Arguably a better chaser these days; last three hurdle outings have been most disappointing and although he has been given some relief by the handicapper, others preferred.
Punchestown winner earlier this year on soft ground from 7lb lower mark; disappointed in a couple of outings before running up to his best over 3m back at Punchestown in May; needs a career-best effort to win.
Won a Grade 3 event at Tipperary in 2017 but has generally struggled over hurdles and on the Flat since; hard to get excited about off current handicap mark.
Not disgraced when stepping up in class last time out at Punchestown running his usual consistent race (surprisingly backed doen to odds-on); this should suit him better but he does not look particularly well handicapped.
Won her over three miles last February but unable to match that performance in subsequent efforts as he rose up the handicap; not totally out of it on the best of his form but looks vulnerable to better handicapped rivals.
Has been campaigned mainly on the Flat of late and ran creditably in late October at Galway; only lightly raced over hurdles and he has some ability but probably still needs to drop a few pounds to get competitive again.
Not seen a racecourse for over three years and this will be a tough ask after such an absence; on the plus side he goes well in testing conditions so a sneaky market peek may be worthwhile.
Winner of four of his 14 starts over hurdles but last win back in January 2018; not the most consistent and the reality is that he is too high in the handicap to mount serious challenges these days.
Toiled most of last season over fences and has just the one racecourse victory to his name which came back in April 2018; handicapper has given him slight respite so not one to quickly rule out of calculations.
Much better chaser these days and showed she was no mug on the Flat when last seen out in October at Leopardstown; ran a fair race when last seen out over hurdles in March and fair chance on best of her form.
Has won two out of his last three hurdles races but has been mainly been campaigned on the Flat of late; certainly has a chance on the best of his form and certainly one to note in the betting ring.
Bumper winner over 2m½f before getting off the mark over hurdles at Sligo on good ground in August; placed in a conditions hurdle at Bellewstown subsequently; interesting contestant on handicap debut.
Was busy last winter over fences and hurdles to little success (though reasonably consistent); still looks too high in the weights to get back to winning ways but could be in the hunt for a place.
Another who has been plying his trade on the Flat; only one hurdle win to his name but is a fair sort and open to improvement over hurdles; definitely one to be wary of in the market.
Maiden hurdle winner over 2m4f on heavy ground at Listowel in September last year. Decent efforts since and market support would be notable.
Has been in most consistent form since winning a handicap at Cork in August; his win last time out at Downpatrick in a novice event was most impressive and he may be the one they have to beat if progressing again.
Forecasts
Rock De Baune (13/8), Bothar Dubh (11/2), Nibblers Charm (13/2), Kilfenora (10/1), Golden Jewel (10/1), Caer (11/1), Timeforwest (14/1), Allez Kal (16/1), Dromore Lad (16/1), Sayar (20/1), Prospectus (20/1), Turbojet (25/1), Agent Boru (25/1), Mon Lino (25/1), Campeador (28/1), Noble Emperor (33/1)
NIBBLERS CHARM is currently quite the progressive type and his trainer looks to have found a decent opportunity against rivals who are mainly poorly handicapped: The gelding needs to improve again himself but the manner of his last win suggests he could be up to the task. Watch out for any market moves for Caer on her handicap debut; she has generally been in good form and may have got in on a reasonable mark. Allez Kal has been campaigned mainly on the Flat of late but her most recent hurdle form would see her capable of winning this type of contest. It is hard to rule out the consistent Bothar Dubh but there may be doubts off his current mark.
- Nibblers Charm
- Bothar Dubh
- Caer
