Only win in his Flat career from 25 starts came over 1m2f at Lingfield off a 6lb higher mark but doesn't look in the same sort of form now. Tried in first-time cheekpieces last time (now removed); never a threat last time and now up in trip.

Hardly a serial winner (1-22) but has shaped well enough when taking the runner-up slot on her two most recent starts. Looked to need the emphasis a little more on stamina last time and gets a chance over further; capable off this mark.

Lingfield winner over 1m2f in March off this mark she's been something of a lull since. Well below form off the back of a break last time here over 1m6f; something to prove even with the tongue-tie back on.

Once again was well below form when making her Fibresand debut last time and has really failed to spark this year. Mark continues to fall but it looks doubtful at the moment as to whether she can take advantage.

Showed improved form to get off the mark at Brighton early last month travelling well over 1m4f, soft, did well to hold on at the finish. Not disgraced since and stays this trip; ought to be capable of getting involved in a contest like this.

Modest form when with Richard Hannon (0-6) but less exposed that many here and has been placed off 2lb higher in the past. Ran poorly last time but he's joined a good yard; interesting to see if there is any market interest on his stable debut.

Course winner who is now tongue-tied for the first-time but looks to have gone off the boil of late running too free on her penultimate start and ridden too aggressively last time. 4lb below her last winning mark but needs to bounce back to form.

Looked to have run a decent third at Brighton (1m4f, good) on her penultimate start but does looks to have been flattered by that run as she failed to back it up last time. Form as a whole looks rather flimsy and others have more convincing profiles.

Returns from a wind op having taken a step in the right direction in first-time cheekpieces in early October over 2m at Kempton. Stepping back to this sort of trip off a basement mark may help but it should be remembered that she is still a maiden.

Stable are rather quiet at the moment and that hardly helps this ones profile coming here on a losing sequence of 14. Well held when last seen at Wolverhampton there's little to enthuse about of late; makes limited appeal.

No form to speak of to his name having run over 1m2f last time he takes a significant step up in trip here not that its expected to make much difference. Hard to see him making much of an impression.

Visor goes on for the first-time but she doesn't have much in the way of solid form to her name. Failed to see out 1m6f at Lingfield last time her first run on Polytrack; less exposed than most here but still takes a leap of faith to support her.

Three handicap starts over gradually increasing trips have shown a little improvement with her best performance coming when third over 2m here last time. Needs to handle the drop in trip and build on that run but wouldn't be out of this.

A record of 0-16 hardly inspires and she's been well below form in her last three starts continuing to show very little. Would have to show some progress to get involved in this which looks unlikely on her current performances.

Forecasts

Falcon Cliffs (3/1), Royal Dancer (10/3), Lady Of York (7/1), Sir Gnet (8/1), Miss Swift (10/1), Demophon (10/1), Vin D'Honneur (14/1), Beechwood James (14/1), Lady Elysia (14/1), Millie May (20/1), Affair (25/1), Miss Green Dream (33/1), Guaracha (50/1), Argent Bleu (66/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly high-class affair with a lot of these struggling for form and entering the last chance saloon if not already drinking in it. FALCON CLIFFS looks one of the safer propositions in this having been placed over 1m4f last week at Kempton having stayed further on previous starts. Royal Dancer is another who has a fairly consistent profile while Miss Swift if she handles the return to this sort of trip looks of interest as she less exposed than most. Beechwood James has yet to win a race but he wouldn’t be the first horse Mick Appleby has worked the oracle with and any market support should be noted.

  3. Miss Swift
