Just the one win to her name from 23 Flat starts with the losing run having now reached 19. Has run respectably for most of the season though; now makes her Fibresand debut; not one to go overboard with her strike rate but this isn't a strong race.

Not seen on the Flat since running for James Fanshawe in June, comes here off the back of three hurdles runs for this yard (not impressed in any of them). Didn't look keen under pressure when last seen on the Flat; Fibresand debut with a bit to prove

Finished well held on his Fibresand debut on his most recent start over 2m, looking as though he didn't stay the trip. Back down in trip but has hardly been in inspirational form for this yard so far and others present sounder opportunities.

Versatile filly she's now won on all three AW surfaces in GB clocking up her Fibresand win last time over this trip when staying on well to follow up her Wolverhampton win. Unbeaten so far over 1m4f she's up 4lb but has a good hat-trick chance.

First-time blinkers are going to need to make a significant difference to one who has so far shown very little over a variety of distances. Well held at Kempton last time his one previous outing on the Fibresand left no lasting impression.

C&D winner but that one victory has come from 14 attempts round here and she hasn't really been in any sort of form of late. Tried over 2m last time it's unlikely she will stay that far; back to a more suitable trip but struggling for form at the mom

Another one on a long losing run having plummeted down the handicap (last win came off a mark off 78); has looked in better form of late though. Stays this trip but has no Fibresand experience (sire has a very modest strike-rate on this surface).

Fared a little better over C&D last time when finishing fourth but the fact remains he still hasn't won for ages. Needs to prove that he can back that up although he won't find many weaker contests than this.

Fibresand debut with blinkers on for the first-time but he looks of little account these days having finished well beaten in a turf handicap at Musselburgh last time. Hard to see him making much of an impression.

Forecasts

Blyton Lass (5/2), Apache Blaze (4/1), Gworn (4/1), Finisher (7/1), Tyrsal (10/1), Lilypad (10/1), Going Native (16/1), Doctor Jazz (16/1), Bold Statement (50/1)

Verdict

James Given looks to have found an ideal opportunity for BLYTON LASS to complete her hat-trick having proved herself on this surface last time. She looks to be the only one capable of improving again and a 4lb rise should not prove prohibitive. Apache Blaze doesn’t have any Fibresand experience but comes from a yard who know the time of day with their runners here and she could well be the main danger. Gworn is thrown in on his old form but has to answer the question of acting on the surface while Tyrsal has to prove he can follow up his respectable fourth over C&D last time. Going Native is one of only two C&D winners in the field but looks to have lost his Fibresand mojo at the moment.
  1. Blyton Lass
  2. Apache Blaze
  3. Tyrsal
