Not done much in three rules races, and she finished just over 10-length behind Who's The Boss (who was giving her 5lbs then) at Huntingdon (2m3f; good) on her seasonal reappearance. More needed now off level weights.

Behind Who's The Boss (2nd) and Crossgalesfamegame (4th) on seasonal debut at Huntingdon (2m3f; good) most recently. Needs to reverse those placings, but did have good bumper form to her name last season. Place claims.

Has ultimately been pretty disappointing since winning a Warwick (1m6f; good) bumper on debut last November. Could only manage to finish seventh on seasonal return at Ffos Las (2m; soft), and vastly more is required if she is going to feature.

Justified favouritism (5/4f) when winning a Fontwell (2m1f; good) bumper back in May. Half-sister to the smart Regal Encore and The Organist, so is an exciting sort to go hurdling with. Major player on seasonal return.

Hugely underwhelming when well-beaten on hurdling/seasonal debut at Ffos Las (2m; soft) last month. That was only 19 days ago, so she must be sound to turn up so soon after that effort. Bit to prove.
Victorious on rules debut for this yard back at Southwell (2m; good) in June. No chance with the odds-on Carrie Des Champs back at that course on hurdling debut in July. Now returns from 107-day break, but has something to find on form.

£20,000 point-to-point recruit who showed a fair level of promise on debut for this yard over C&D last month when third. That was a decent quality affair. Better expected from her with that experience under her belt.

Offered plenty of encouragement on her rules/hurdles debut when runner-up at Huntingdon (2m3f; good). May have got closer to the winner of that contest but for a mistake at the last. Must have decent claims if she has improved from that effort.

Forecasts

Who's The Boss (9/4), Velkera (7/2), Crossgalesfamegame (4/1), Miss Honey Ryder (5/1), The Distant Lady (8/1), Marilyn Monroe (12/1), Lunar Baby (22/1), Dares To Dream (22/1), Miss Antipova (25/1)

Verdict

A race similar to our opener with a few of these holding plenty of future potential. After she finished third over C&D on her first run under rules, Velkera is respected as she should improve from that effort. However, she lacks the experience of some of these, including Who's The Boss and Dares To Dream. The former finished comfortably in front of the latter when the pair met recently, but the latter is surely capable of better given the form she showed in bumpers last season. The vote goes to the hurdling newcomer MARILYN MONROE though who looked useful when winning a Fontwell bumper. If ridden more patiently, she can win this well.
  1. Marilyn Monroe
  2. Who's The Boss
  3. Dares To Dream
