Three-time course winner at 6f who looks in good heart of late and took advantage of a good draw/track position last time to score. That form has a strong look about it; up just 2lb, the only real question mark is his ability to cope with 7f.
Five-time course winner (two at this trip); not seen to best effect over C&D last time (caught wide); that run came off a three-month break/without his usual headgear. Still without cheekpieces this strong traveller should be noted in the market.
Went unpenalised for his Salisbury 1m win but failed to follow up at Epsom when last seen with a suspect attitude rather blighting his chance. Lightly-raced on the AW, he remains 6lb above his last winning mark, last winning rider returns.
Back-to-back 6f winner on differing ground at Leicester/Pontefract in the summer he had more on his plate when finishing in midfield at Ayr last time (far from disgraced). Yet to win on the AW and 0-4 here; others make more appeal given that premise.
Lightly-raced sort who only made one start as a 3yo but has remained below that debut performance in two starts as a 4yo. Hard to know how much ability remains but interesting that connections persevere; handicap debut in a first-time visor.
C&D winner who appears to have lost his way of late despite being well supported last time. Slipped well below his last winning mark but has to improve given his recent effort to make an impact; limited appeal.
Brighton specialist who recorded his latest win there in September to take his course winning tally to ten. Underperformed on his first AW start since March 2018 over 6f claimer here last time; work to do on the basis of that performance.
Fair performer who was back down to his last winning mark when winning narrowly at Chelmsford over this trip in April (helped by cheekpieces). Below form last two starts although he does reside on a mark below his last winning one.
Forecasts
Busby (2/1), Reaction Time (5/2), Thechildren'strust (9/2), Soar Above (17/2), Glory of Paris (10/1), Full Intention (18/1), Pour La Victoire (20/1), Inexes (20/1)
A short-priced favourite here when winning here over 6f last time Busby is now asked to gain a first win over 7f something that he’s tried to and failed at before. There’s no denying he’s in good heart but it may well be that some of these can outstay him. It’s interesting that Godolphin have kept REACTION TIME in training for a horse of his supposed quality he’s well treated here going into handicaps for the first-time with a visor on; this test may show him in a better light. Money for Soar Above would make him interesting although he probably needs to be seen in cheekpieces again before that happens. Inexes despite his AW record has to be respected along with Thechildren’strust.
