A two-time winner over hurdles but is 0-7 since going chasing. He was eighth of 13 last time at Huntingdon (2m4f). Has been eased 5lb now to a mark which gives him a good chance of gaining his first win over fences.
Scored over C&D in December, while he was successful on his last outing at Fontwell over this distance back in March. Has gone up 7lb in the weights, however, he is capable of more success from this new mark.
Prevailed for the third time over fences at Chepstow (2m) back in February. Has been well held on his three starts since then. Has gone down 2lb and is set for his first start of the season. Others are preferred.
Was last successful back in March at Fontwell (2m2f) where he was a comfortable 15L winner in a five runner field. Has struggled since then. Back down in trip after finishing fourth of nine at Uttoxter (2m6½f) last time. Has each-way claims.
Remains a maiden after 14 starts. Has not appeared since coming home eighth of 13 at Fontwell (2m5½f) back in December. Has been eased 3lb in the weights. Others make much more of an appeal.
Has yet to score over fences in five attempts. Has been busy on the track over the summer. He was third of eight on his latest effort at Fontwell (2m3½f). Has been dropped down 1lb. Will need to improve to break his maiden.
Both of his two wins over fences have come at this course, with his latest success being over 2m1f back in April where the margin of victory was 9L. He was third of seven on his seasonal reappearance at Stratford (2m1f). Up in trip now. Big player.
Forecasts
Bad Boy Du Pouldu (3/1), Ballyantics (7/2), Shintori (4/1), Brother Bennett (11/2), Lickpenny Larry (13/2), Shimba Hills (8/1), Bredon Hill Lad (14/1)
SHINTORI has already prevailed over this C&D and he can add to his latest victory at Fontwell by defying this 7lb rise in the weights as he is still open to improvement over fences. Brother Bennett enjoys it around here and he should build upon his opening start of the campaign to be in the mix at the finish, while Bad Boy Du Pouldu can hit the frame over this latest mark but his wait for his first success over fences may have to go on.
