Hasn't won since a heavy ground success at Ayr in 2017. Entitled to have needed the run last time and his third at Cartmel in May suggests he retains ability, despite his advancing years.

Won a four runner event at Catterick in February and only beaten 1L next time at Cartmel. Yet to win from a mark this high though and disappointed last time out; returns from an absence.

Has shaped with plenty of promise in several of his chase starts, despite not getting in a win on the board yet. Wind surgery since his last run and has fitness to prove on return from an absence but likely capable from this mark.

Gained a first win in 10 chase starts at Bangor when last seen, bolting up by 14L. 532 day absence suggests he's had his issues in the interim though but handicapper has left him on a handy enough mark if fully fit for his return.

Not the most fluent jumper but got his head back in front at Chepstow in March. Has disappointed in two starts this autumn though and he's 5lb above his last winning mark.

A winner twice over hurdles. Chase bow was devoid of promise at Huntingdon last month but yard have an excellent strike-rate at this venue and he's entitled to come on for that run.

In good form at the start of last season with two wins including a heavy ground success at Haydock over a similar trip but lost his way towards the end of the campaign, well beaten here last time. On a workable mark if back to his best on return.

Lough Saltp17
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-1| J: J McGrath| T: R C Guest| OR:  109| CD

Both career wins have come here over hurdles but has run some promising races over fences, largely at this venue. Two starts (one Flat, one hurdles) this season should put him right for his return to fences and he rates as an interesting contender.

Out For Justicet99
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-13| J: Benjamin Poste| T: Katy Price| OR:  107| DWS

Won twice in decent ground in the summer but either the handicapper caught up with him or he lost his way subsequently. Has questions to answer on his return here. First start since a wind operation.

Forecasts

Newtown Lad (3/1), Renwick (4/1), Chase The Wind (4/1), Late Romantic (5/1), Lough Salt (6/1), Absolutely Dylan (17/2), Nightline (10/1), Global Dream (12/1), Out For Justice (14/1), Silver Tassie (16/1), Justforjames (25/1)

Verdict

Chase The Wind was impressive when gaining a first win for some at Huntingdon last month and if he ought to be capable of being in the mix if he proves as effective in what is likely to be more testing conditions. However, LOUGH SALT is preferred after a couple of prep runs and he's run well at this venue on a number of occasions, both over hurdles and fences. It's worth respecting any horse Dan Skelton runs at this venue and Renwick is likely capable of better at some stage.
