By Hot Streak out of a Refuse To Bend mare. Not disgraced on both career starts to date, but generally well held on both occasions. More needed but not one to put a line through.

Gelding by Gutaifan out of a Danehill mare. Closely related to Knight's Parade, a winner up to 2m and a half-brother to several winners. Under pressure from two out on debut at the Curragh last month finishing seventh of 13 beaten 9¾L.

Colt by Bated Breathe out of a Bahamian Bounty mare. Closely related to three winners including Fuente, third in a Group 3 contest on the AW at Kempton. Yards newcomers often come on for first run.

Has failed to build on his second of nine beaten 1¾L at the Curragh last month with a couple of below-par efforts last month. That said, requires plenty of respect on AW debut.

Gelding by Olympic Glory out of a Layman mare. Dam, a seven-race maiden on the Flat in France. Best watched on debut with Co Laois yard a little under the weather of late.

7/1
Colt by War Front out of a Galileo mare. Brother to winners, U S Navy Flag and Roly Poly. Well held in a couple of starts in the early summer. Given plenty of time since and an improved effort in first-time blinkers would not surprise.

Horse silk
25/1
Gelding by Slade Power out of a Distant View mare. Closely related to multiple winners Kingaroo and Norman Open, three-time winner on the AW running over 7f and 1m. Best watched on debut with yards runners not firing on all cylinders recently.
Cheaply bought for €9,500 as a yearling. By smart juvenile Gutaifan and is a half-brother to 6f winner Camachess. Improvement required from a couple of disappointing starts at Naas in September and more recently at Navan last month.

Daughter of Gutaifan out of a Street Cry mare. Dam, a seven race maiden for trainer Roger Varian. Best watched on debut unless market vibes suggest otherwise.
Cable Bay filly out of a Dubawi mare. Closely related to Eclipse Storm, winner on debut over 6f. Dam, a 10-race maiden who failed to get off the mark for the Godolphin operation.
Daughter of Gutaifan out of a Iffraaj mare. Closely related to winners Ventura Blues successful over 6f/1m and Rayna's World who secured a couple of victories over 1m/1m4f. Plenty to prove following disappointing debut at this track last month.

Dark Angel filly, cost 30,000 gns as a yearling. Closely related to a winning sprinter and half-sister to a 7f winner. Last of 15 beaten over 15L on debut in a Curragh 5f contest when last seen in May.

22/1
Taking a while to get the hang of things for the daughter of Dandy Man. Requires a good chunk of improvement from her first five career starts to play a role in this contest.

Horse silk
16/1
Daughter of Anjaal out of an Exceed And Excel mare. Closely related to winners Spirit Of Wedza and Spirit Of Zebedee. Last of eight on dismal debut effort at this venue last month. Represents a yard where an improved performance would not surprise.

Forecasts

Gatwick Kitten (2/1), Christines Angel (9/2), Ohio State (7/1), Big Gossey (8/1), Holy Olympic (8/1), Ballyare (8/1), Chanell Eclipse (8/1), Sampers Seven (16/1), Corrienthes (18/1), Lady Stark (22/1), Power Ahead (25/1), Smart Project (25/1), Banchory (33/1), Heavenly Bound (33/1)

Verdict

The Dermot Weld-trained GATWICK KITTEN appears to have been found an ideal opportunity to get off the mark at the sixth time of asking for connections. The Kitten's Joy colt can get his head in front making his debut on the surface ahead of the Aidan O'Brien-trained Ohio State who is expected to be better than his first couple of career starts. Improved efforts from Ballyare and the Mick Halford-trained Sampers Seven would not surprise.
  1. Gatwick Kitten
  2. Ohio State
  3. Sampers Seven
