Showed plenty of promise in two bumpers in 2018 and 2019; seasonal reappearance was a little disappointing but he will be fitter here and rates a lively chance if taking to hurdles.
Point-to-point winner in February and off the track since then; plenty to like about the way he won that race (well backed) and a check in the market is advised for his bow under rules.
Improved on debut form when scoring decisively at Fairyhouse (2m, good; 2-5f) last February before finishing last season not beaten far in valuable contest at Punchestown; entered in Listed event this Sunday; holds every chance.
Well beaten on only hurdles start in September having shown little in bumpers previously; showed signs of ability in October in a bumper when finishing 2nd; needs to improve to be a serious contender.
Completely tailed off when last seen at Downpatrick in October on hurdles debut; had previously failed to complete in two point-to-points and well beaten in a bumper; hard to get excited about.
Winner of two of his 13 starts on the AW for trainer Jamie Osbourne but failed to progress when brought to Ireland; hard to assess whether he will make a decent hurdler and market will be best guide.
Had been improving with every run so it was no surprise to see him winning a Downpatrick bumper in late September; certainly one of contenders with a better chance if taking to jumping a hurdle.
Won a maiden point-to-point well enough in May; much more needed here on hurdling debut but hails from a decent stable and his chances may be flagged by the market.
Has been brought along quietly and not disgraced on any of his efforts over hurdles; looks the type who will do well in time and there may be a couple too smart for him at the current time.
Landed a 20/1 shock at Worcester winning a bumper in May but no real show on her hurdles debut at Punchestown in October; can come on for that run and not easy to dismiss.
Has showed a little bit of promise on her two outings over hurdles but pulled up last time out in a bumper at Downpatrick suggesting a watching brief in this contest.
Point-to-point winner who has shown little in the way of ability in four bumper starts to date; unlikely to be good enough on hurdling debut.
Had been disappointing and easy to back on all three bumper starts during the summer and switch to hurdles failed to improve her fortune; hard to make a case for.
Won or was placed in exactly half of her 22 career starts on the Flat; very interesting contender who has plenty of stamina and definitely one to keep an eye on in the market.
Forecasts
Fury Road (8/11), Face The Odds (11/4), Bois De Clamart (10/1), Tecumseh Sherman (12/1), Enjoy D'allen (12/1), I'mstillyourbaby (25/1), So Near So Farhh (33/1), Sam Missile (50/1), Orena Bay (66/1), Rossderrin (66/1), A Three Eighty (66/1), Ringhill Lady (100/1), Missie's Boy (100/1), Rubiana (100/1)
FURY ROAD is well regarded by connections and can build on some of the best bumper form on show in this contest to land this before going on to better things. The fact he is also entered in a Listed novice hurdle later in the week suggests this race should easily be in his reach. Bois De Clamart should be better for a recent outing and while he has had his training problems when seeing a racecourse he rarely lets connections down. So Near So Farhh was very consistent on the Flat and if relishing the switch to hurdles he certainly has the stamina to run well on his debut.
- Fury Road
- Bois De Clamart
- So Near So Farhh
