Second start for new yard, ran respectably on debut for them at Stratford two weeks ago and ought to strip fitter for it as well; yard do well here and with conditions ideal, one to consider.

Won a couple on the Flat in the summer (both on quick ground) but a little disappointing he couldn't do better at Worcester when sent back over hurdles in September; looks fairly handicapped all the same, and could do better.

Bits and pieces of form in seven starts so far, mainly in novice hurdles but disappointing on handicap debut back in July and has to leave that form behind here. Yard get winners at the track though, so not discounted.

Hot the frame on his final start of last year, the blinkers (on again here) seemingly responsible for that better effort; only four so best years in front of him, could improve on that and any money for him needs noting.

Keen-going sort that has been placed in both his hurdles starts to date, possibly bumping into a decent one at Ludlow last time;track should suit and he gets 3yo allowances here, so has to be taken very seriously on handicap debut.

Has been in good form this summer/autumn, winning a couple and still showed there were races in her off this mark when third at Plumpton last time; fitness assured and still at the right end of the handicap, so must be considered.

Not done a lot in eight starts to recommend his chance here, hard to see where this mark comes from after finishing well beaten all three hurdles starts to date, and others readily preferred.

Sent off big prices last four starts and was well beaten on handicap debut at Uttoxeter a couple of weeks ago; hard to see where the necessary improvement is coming from, although addition of a visor may help.

Placed on hurdles debut back in June but has gone backwards since then and signs of temperament at Ludlow last time hardly helping his cause; plenty to prove at present.

Forecasts

Musical Stardust (5/2), Brambledown (7/2), Affluence (5/1), Collodi (5/1), Perfect Myth (11/2), Welland (7/1), Two Blondes (10/1), Captain Speaking (16/1), Gold Fields (20/1), Global Wonder (40/1)

Verdict

Brambledown is quickly moved into handicaps to take advantage of the weight allowances he gets as a 3yo, and he has already shown more than enough ability to win a race of this nature. He has to be given strong consideration, as does the in-form Musical Stardust, who knows how to win and still looks well weighted. But a chance is taken on top weight PERFECT MYTH, who looks sure to get an easy time of it on the front end and will improve plenty for a recent outing at Stratford. Money for either Affluence or Captain Speaking would need noting.
