Point-to-point winner who showed a little promise on both of his bumper outings last season; no reason why he should not have improved over the summer and holds a reasonable chance.
Cost €15,000 as a three-year-old; brother to a couple of useful sorts including Avondhu Lady; no show on only racecourse appearance; entitled to improve and worth a market check.

Ran well at Cork following a long absence from the track when finishing third of eight (front two well in command); should strip fitter here and holds every chance if making a little more progress.
Nice enough pedigree and still time on his side; will probably have to wait a while for his first success based on his weak effort on racecourse debut at Clonmel earlier this month.
Showed some promise on his debut at Roscommon in May but seemed to have regressed by the time he saw the racecourse again in July at the same track; hard to see him being good enough.
Has only managed to complete one of his four point-to-point starts; difficult to assess and market may be the best guide.
Placed twice in maiden point-to-point contests earlier this year; showed up for a long way on both his bumper starts to date; can improve on those eforts and looks one of the more likely types.
Well held on all three bumper starts so far and is hard to recommend on current evidence.

Forecasts

Battling Warrior (5/4), Fortune Street (9/4), Axiomatic (7/2), Snowpiercer (8/1), Rathnure Ranger (20/1), Michael's Pick (50/1), Stormy Watar (66/1), Fuzzbuster (66/1)

Verdict

No obvious winner but a slight preference is given to FORTUNE STREET who has shown enough promise on his two latest runs to suggest he is up to winning a bumper sooner rather than later. He finished third last time out and should be able to progress. Axiomatic does not look the most obvious contender on paper but can be expected to have improved over the summer and hails from a top yard. Snowpiercer is slowly getting the hang of things and would not have to improve too much to get involved in this weak contest.
  1. Fortune Street
