Disappointed over an extended 3m2f at Newton Abbot (good) in June. Previously a decent 10L fourth at Warwick (3m2f, good) and he is an interesting runner on his return from a break.

Fair 18L fifth over an extended 3m2f at Stratford (good) on his return to hurdles in May. Has won off much higher marks in the past and he is worth a check in the market for a stable with a 40% strike-rate (2/5) in recent weeks.

Placed twice in maiden hurdles prior to finishing 12½L sixth in a 3m event at Newcastle (soft) on handicap debut in January. Had wind surgery since and he is of interesting on debut for this stable.

Made a winning handicap debut when victorious by 1L over an extended 2m4f at Huntingdon (good) in April. Raised 7lb for that success and is a leading contender upped in trip on seasonal debut.

Seven race maiden was pulled up in a novices' handicap chase at Bangor (good-to-soft) over an extended 2m4f in April last year. Changed stables since and market support would be notable with a hood worn on return to hurdles.

Placed second, beaten ½L in a 2m5f handicap hurdle at Warwick (good-to-soft) last December. Disappointed on soft ground upped to 2m7f on only subsequent start and better ground forecast here is a positive.

Returning from a break when beaten 43L into ninth in a 2m5f maiden hurdle at Warwick (good) at the start of this month. Probably best watched on return to handicaps.

Eight race maiden finished a decent 9¾L fourth in a first time tongue tie (retained) in a novices' handicap hurdle at Kempton (2m5f, good) in May. Interesting contender stepping up in distance.

Best effort in two starts since winning at Perth (3m, good) in a first time visor (reapplied last time out) in July came when beaten a short-head over 3m1f at Huntingdon (good) last week. Leading contender despite a 7lb rise in the weights.

Winner of a handicap hurdle over an extended 3m at Doncaster (good) by 2½L in November last year. Step back up in trip a positive following a 40L seventh on seasonal debut at Carlisle (2m4f, soft) recently.

Handicap mark is falling following some moderate efforts in 2019. Most recent came when beaten 50L over an extended 2m7f at Hexham (soft) earlier this month and he is well handicapped on his old form.

Good effort in finishing 4L fourth in a novices' handicap hurdle over an extended 2m7f at Uttoxeter (good) in May. Cheekpieces worn for the first time that are retained on his return from a break.

Forecasts

For Jim (7/2), Derrick D'Anjou (6/1), Glenforde (15/2), March Is On (8/1), Speedy Cargo (8/1), Exitas (8/1), Lord Sparky (8/1), From The Heart (10/1), Fawsley Spirit (10/1), Fontley House (16/1), Dubh Des Champs (33/1), Mountain Ranger (50/1), Moorlands Mist (66/1)

Verdict

FOR JIM has been running well in recent starts and he can go one better than when narrowly beaten at Huntingdon recently. The selection has the trip and forecast going to suit and he can get the better of From The Heart who is open to improvement stepping up in trip. Lord Sparky is another stepping up in distance and he can finish third having won his final start of last season.
