Won twice at Dundalk last winter and went close to getting his head back in front over 6f here in May, Below form twice since, but back on a good mark, and a recent AW run should have sharpened him up.
Represents last year's winning connections, and improved when making all to land a C&D maiden last time by 1¾ lengths from Golden Eye Diamond. Opening mark demands more, but he's likely to progress further.
Successful on racecourse bow at Naas (heavy) last spring, but essentially regressive since then, and this year's efforts have been woeful.
Winner on this card last year, and well treated on that form, but while he's been in the frame a couple of times this year, he's been largely below form for a while, and has questions to answer at present.
Front runner scored career win number three at Down Royal in June and not far off that level at the Curragh over 6f a week later. Ran poorly there last time, but that came after a break, and probable he'll be much sharper for that outing.
Rather in and out this term, and while he was back to form when runner-up on the beach at Laytown last time, he may find a few too strong back on turf.
Looks flattered by his second in a small-field event at Naas in July, but handicapper slow to relent. Well beaten here last time, and not easy to make a case for him.
Seems best on quicker ground, and ran well when runner-up over C&D in July. Not disgraced when fourth to Silver Service on heavy ground at the Curragh last time, but beaten 8L, and needs a fair bit more.
Matched previous best when runner-up at the Curragh (5f, heavy) in August, but well held on handicap debut there on latest start, and needs to bounce back.
Forecasts
Tide Of Time (5/2), Strong Johnson (3/1), Little Clarinet (9/2), Amanaat (6/1), Sors (8/1), Sun Sign (14/1), Shore Step (16/1), Aloysius Lilius (25/1), Pride Of Pimlico (33/1)
AMANAAT probably needed the run after a break at Dundalk last time, and looks on a winning mark if he can reproduce the form of his second here in May. Tide of Time appeals on a similar basis having run below form after a break at the Curragh last time, and he has place claims if coming forward from that, with Strong Johnson the other to consider on handicap debut for last year's winning connections.
- Amanaat
- Tide Of Time
- Strong Johnson
