Made a promising debut in a Kempton bumper (good to soft) in March, but below that form when last seen at Huntingdon in April. Should be capable of improvement now going hurdling.
Fast ground Lingfield class 6 handicap winner (1m3½f) in May, when with Chris Gordon. Changed hands for £5,500 in July and makes debut for a team that does well at this track. Soft ground a possible concern, but market check advised.
Unbeaten in a point and two bumpers, including a Listed win on soft at Ascot when last seen in December. Step up in trip looks positive for this hurdles debut, and he could prove tough to beat.
Point runner-up who has been well held in all rules starts so far. Impossible to recommend him.
0-5 over hurdles. Won Kempton classified event (1m3f, AW) in April, but recent efforts in that code offer no encouragement for this return to jumping.
Debut bumper winner at Carlisle (soft) last November. Improved on that when 3L fifth in good Cheltenham novices' hurdle in December (good). Held in Grade 2 Dovecote when last seen, but big player if back close to his best.
Staying on 10L second in a Stratford bumper (good) in March, when with Nick Williams. Since changed hands and makes stable/hurdles debut upped in trip. No surprise if he improves enough to pick up some more prize money.
Well beaten in a couple of Irish points, and can't be recommended on rules debut.
8L second in a point at Corbridge (good) in February. Cost £11,000 soon after and now makes rules debut. Watching brief advised first time.
Dual runner-up in soft ground Irish points (five starts). 25-1 and well beaten on rules debut. Can only watch after that.
€28,000 foal, €40,000 yearling. Unraced dam is a half-sister to a 2m/2m2f hurdle winner Blue Shark. Trainer 15% (compared to five-year average of 10%) with his hurdlers this season. Market check on debut.
Won maiden Irish point (good) on his second start and cost £35,000 in April. Trainer can have them ready to win first time, but is just 5% with his hurdlers so far this season, so probably best watched unless market vibes strong.
Placed in three of his six Irish points. Not seen since January and now makes rules debut for new trainer. Can only watch.
Steady improvement in bumpers, and pedigree suggests that if she is ever to taste success, it will be now switched to obstacles. Can't recommend her yet, however.
Forecasts
Eden Du Houx (8/11), I K Brunel (13/8), In Rem (12/1), Champs Inblue (16/1), Robins Field (25/1), Certainly Red (25/1), Supreme Escape (33/1), One For Dunstan (33/1), Moromac (33/1), Tarks Hill (50/1), Oscarsman (66/1), Vital Sign (66/1), Glengar (66/1), Hi There Silver (100/1)
This looks likely to be a match between Eden Du Houx, a Listed bumper winner making his hurdles debut, and I K BRUNEL, who already looks useful in this sphere, and the latter's experience earns him the vote today. In Rem, and to a lesser extent Robins Field also make some appeal for minor honours.
- I K Brunel
- Eden Du Houx
- In Rem
