Has shown minor promise in bumpers. Has a Flat pedigree, so has it to prove over obstacles on his first attempt.

Dual Irish point winner. Showed promise on his hurdling debut last November, but was well below that level on heavy ground when upped to 2m7f a month later. In good hands. Returns from wind surgery dropped in trip. Could go well, but looks a stayer.

Maiden Irish point winner (good) on his second start in that sphere, in May. Changed hands for £40,000 soon after, and now makes hurdles debut for top team, dropped in trip. May be capable of making an impact, but should improve when up in trip.

Went close on his hurdles debut in Ireland (2m4f, good to yielding) for Margaret Mullins, when looking useful. Unlucky to unship his pilot when odds-on on his recent British debut here. Should go very close granted a clear round.

66-1 and well held on debut in a Worcester bumper recently. Can only watch now he makes the switch to obstacles.

20-1 and not devoid of promise on debut in a Ffos Las bumper (soft) in April. Brother to a hurdles winner over this trip. Stable quiet enough at present, so perhaps one to watch, unless market vibes strong.

Won his first two bumpers at Newton Abbot on a sound surface in 2017, before being beaten at odds-on on his hurdles debut when last seen in July of that year. Is back from whatever has kept him off the track since, and the market can guide us.

Ffos Las bumper winner (soft) on debut last year, when with Evan Williams. Well held on both hurdles runs at that track, however, so returns from a break with plenty to prove for new trainer.

20/1
Irish point runner-up. Beaten favourite on rules debut at Ffos Las in December (2m4f, heavy) and beaten further when last seen in January. Reappears after wind surgery, dropped in trip, and with plenty to prove now.
13
Horse silk
200/1
Irish point runner-up who was thrashed on his hurdles debut at Newton Abbot last month. Much more needed.

1-24 on the Flat and rated just 47 in that sphere. Will need a huge improvement on those efforts now switching to this discipline.
10-1 and hampered a couple of times on debut, when 49L ninth of 12 in a Uttoxeter maiden hurdle (2m, soft) recently. Should come on for that, and encouraging that the champion jockey gets back up, but much more needed.
16
Horse silk

Well beaten in three bumpers and when last seen here on her hurdles debut in April. Others preferred.

Verdict

Some interesting runners for top stables here include Easyrun De Vassy, Gameface, Getaway Fred and Whatsthecraicjack, and it would be no surprise to see any of those make an impact, even over a trip shorter than looks ideal for some. However, arguably even more eyecatching on paper is the unbeaten Eden Du Houx for David Pipe, and also HANG IN THERE for Emma Lavelle. The latter was unlucky to be nearly carried out last time, and with a bit more experience than some of his chief opponents, he is taken to gain compensation.
  1. Hang In There
  2. Eden Du Houx
  3. Easyrun De Vassy
