Failed to record a single success in eight runs on the Flat where he was largely disappointing. His latest effort was at Newcastle (1m4½f) where he had just one horse behind him in a 12 runner field. Will need to improve on his switch to hurdling.

Has a couple of positive pieces of form on the Flat but was unable to pick up a win in six runs. Was last of eight on his opening run for his new yard last time at Hamilton (1m4f). Switch to National Hunt may be what he needs. Worth respecting.

Has had two attempts over hurdles where he has been well held on both occasions. His most recent appearance came at Ludlow (2m) where he was fifth off 11. Others are preferred here on the evidence of recent form.

Was a maiden on the Flat after eight appearances. He was sixth of 14 last time at Newcastle (1m2f). Has shaped like he has needed further so this latest challenge over hurdles may suit him. One to think about.

His sole success on the Flat came at Cattrick where he stayed well over the 1m6f trip to score by a short-head. Finished fourth of 10 last time at Chelmsford (1m4f). This will be his first run for his new yard and his hurdles debut. One to consider.

Did not fare badly on his hurdles debut at Ludlow (2m) as he was fourth of 11. He stayed on well in the closing stages last time without troubling the leaders. Likely to build upon that here. One to think about.

Had just one success on the Flat and that was over 7f at Cattrick early in her career. Her form was largely poor this year. This will be her first run for her new yard on her switch to hurdling. Best to watch for now.

Was a winner on the AW during her Flat campaign when she scored at Newcastle (1m4½f) three starts ago. Switched yards since then and has been unsuccessful in two attempts. Well-bred filly who is a big player on her hurdles debut.

Last Year's Winner

Last year's winner is unavailable

Robeam (13/8), Soloist (5/2), Tabou Beach Boy (13/2), Karasheni (8/1), Ritchie Star (10/1), Mi Laddo (12/1), George Hastings (40/1), Smashing Lass (50/1)

SOLOIST is receiving weight from the majority of her rivals here and she has a great chance of getting off the mark over hurdles at the first attempt as she was useful on the Flat. Robeam looks likely to perform well on his opening appearance over hurdles where he should not have any issues with the trip, while it would be no surprise to see Ritchie Star finishing in the placings now he is over obstacles.
