16:10 Leopardstown Sat 19 October 2019
Won on debut 18 months ago but yet to double his tally including over hurdles where he was beaten at odds on recently. May just have needed that run but proving expensive to follow having been beaten favourite four times in last five outings.
Well beaten on Monday returning from a break and on evidence to date has to show that ground this soft is what he wants.
Usually found in better class handicaps on the Flat and ran well in valuable contest at Leopardstown when not getting the smoothest of runs. Not extended when winning over hurdles since and of plenty of interest in current mood.
Below expectations when well backed on latest run at The Curragh. Has plenty of form in this type of handicap but rare try today on soft ground and has to prove he can cope with it.
Two wins this time last year on similar ground and hinted at a return to best last time but yet to race beyond 1m2f so stamina needs to be taken on trust.
Has been kept busy of late and the first time blinkers worked the oracle when getting off the mark at Gowran on Monday on heavy ground. May be capable of better now and has to be on the short list.
Won on debut as a juvenile but has struggled this season and best watched until showing more of a spark.
Improved since stepping up to this sort of trip and deservedly off the mark when landing a soft ground maiden at Roscommon though raised 7lb for that and the form has been let down since.
Off the mark on debut over 1m2f and may have been inconvenienced by the drop in trip when midfield since in handicap. May have more to offer now up in distance and worth checking for market confidence.
Landed a bit of a punt when scoring over 1m2f at Leopardstown on last run on the Flat and 5lb rise on paper is fair but this a very rare run on soft ground and has to prove he is as good on it.
Listowel win last month was deserved after a consistent spell but two runs since under both codes have been well below that level and needs to bounce back for yard that took this race a year ago.
Moderate form in France and no better on Irish debut. Yet to race beyond 1m and hard to make a case for.
In good heart most of this summer but still on the same mark as latest win that was gained over a year ago and others make more appeal.
Leopardstown win earlier in the season and not disgraced since but this a tougher ask and probably needs a personal best to take this.
Yet to reach the frame and hard to make a case for despite his slipping handicap mark and not heard to look elsewhere.
Best effort was on penultimate run but way below that level when trying soft ground since and needs to prove this surface is what she wants.
