A Group 1 winner who finished 1L third in this race in 2016 and has run well in defeat in two subsequent renewals. Won't mind the ground but hasn't been at his very best so far this season, with just a conditions win at Hamilton to his name.
Four of his five wins have come at this venue and just about a career best when landing a C&D Group 3 last time out. Well worth a crack at this level and the forecast ground makes him less vulnerable to speedier types.
A Group 2 as a juvenile and got back to something like his best when runner-up to Cape Byron last time. Quirky sort (can race keen, flash tail, start slowly) but not without place claims if he can put it all together under his favoured conditions.
Only beaten by a short head in the C&D Diamond Jubilee Stakes earlier this season. Hasn't been in the same form in two starts since but versatile with regards to ground and a return to this venue could spark a revival.
Surprise Group 3 winner at Newmarket at the start of the campaign when benefiting from being held up off a strong pace. Consistent since and a solid effort when behind two of these rivals in a Group 3 earlier this month; needs more at this level.
Won 2017's renewal of this race but hasn't won since. Back in form when runner-up in a Group 2 at Newbury last time out and the ground has come in his favour; isn't one to rule out.
Has enjoyed a remarkable season, starting off rated just 66 and now arrives here on the back of a Listed success at the Curragh when bolting up by 4½L. There's no doubt this is tougher but he might not have hit the ceiling of his ability just yet.
Surprise winner of this race last year when allowed a soft lead. His three starts this year suggest he may have been flattered by that run and he only beat one home in the C&D Diamond Jubilee last time out.
Dual Group 3 winner who ran with credit (third of 12) in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on Arc day behind One Master. More needed against these rivals.
A three-time Group 1 winner who landed this race in 2016 and came right back to form when only beaten ½L in the Sprint Cup behind Hello Youmzain last time out. A shade unlucky that day and may be able to reverse form here.
Has an excellent strike-rate of five wins from nine starts, narrowly getting the better of Brando in the Prix Maurice De Gheest last time out. Has been kept away from testing conditions though and that's an obvious concern here.
Put up a big career best when landing the Sprint Cup at Haydock last time out, adding to a pair of Group 2 wins. Allowed to dominate from the front that day though and won't get as easy time of it here; worthy of respect nonetheless though.
Well-backed in to favouritism when bolting up in the Stewards' Cup in August but nowhere near as effective on soft ground in the Sprint Cup last time. Unexposed but has questions to answer with regards to conditions after that run.
Talented sprinter who landed the Prix de l'Abbaye last season having only been narrowly denied in the Nunthorpe. Hasn't been at that level this year though and she has to prove she can be as effective over a stiff 6f.
Made it back-to-back wins in the Prix de la Foret last time when the front two pulled clear and she will be better suited to a stiff 6f on soft ground than most of these. Course winner who was a good third in the Queen Anne this year; interesting.
Listed winner who was just 1½L behind Advertise in the Commonwealth Cup. However, well positioned throughout that run and she's looked flattered by that performance subsequently.
Dual Group 3 winner who was only narrowly denied in the Group 1 Flying Five at the Curragh. Best efforts have come on a firmer surface than what she will get here though.
Forecasts
One Master (4/1), Advertise (4/1), Hello Youmzain (6/1), Make A Challenge (9/1), Cape Byron (9/1), The Tin Man (10/1), Sands Of Mali (12/1), Librisa Breeze (16/1), Dream Of Dreams (20/1), Speak In Colours (22/1), Brando (25/1), Mabs Cross (28/1), Donjuan Triumphant (33/1), So Perfect (33/1), Khaadem (50/1), Forever In Dreams (66/1), Keystroke (66/1)
A wide-open renewal of this that includes each of the last three winners of the race. Make A Challenge is arguably the most interesting contender having progressed from a lowly mark of 66 to be a genuine contender in Group 1 company having bolted up at the Curragh last time. However, preference is for THE TIN MAN who bounced back to form at Haydock last time out when only narrowly denied and a return to this track could see him in an even better light. One Master is an obvious danger after her second Group 1 win in France last time out.
- The Tin Man
- Make A Challenge
