Enjoyed a good spell earlier in the year and is a good yardstick who can be relied upon to run his race. That's often been with the choke out full and he's had little in reserve for the finish. 1-16 on the AW (at Lingfield) but acts on Tapeta.
Best form has been posted at Chester so no issue with racing on a turning track. However, he's a relatively unknown quantity on Tapeta as he's only raced on this type of surface once before. He's 5lb above his last winning mark but still respected.
Not seen since finishing mid-division in the Stewards Cup in August but goes well fresh; and the surface isn't an issue as he's already a C&D winner. Combine that with a handy draw, and there's a lot going for him from a competitive mark.
Behind a few of these over C&D - when wearing cheekpieces for the first time - earlier this month and work to do if he's going to reverse the form; still 2lb above his last winning mark and lack of in-depth experience on Tapeta is a negative.
Good effort to finish second here 13 days ago and form since being fitted with cheekpieces has been a marked improvement. Not fully exposed and potential for further progress now he's readjusted to being back with James Tate after a spell in Dubai.
Brushed aside by the likes of Power Link and Watchable when the tempo increased in his his latest race and is another who faces a stern challenge in his bid to reverse the form.
Gained reward for some near misses when scoring at Leicester (6f, good) on his penultimate start but never looked like backing it up when outpaced from the start at Haydock when last seen. Off since July and best watched on debut for a new yard.
Won a Class 5 handicap over C&D in July (form franked several times since) and held his form well to be placed in each of three runs since. Steps up to this level for the first time but not unfeasible that he could be thereabouts from a handy draw.

Forecasts
Power Link (6/4), El Hombre (7/2), Dizzy G (5/1), Baby Steps (6/1), Reflektor (8/1), Gabrial The Saint (9/1), Watchable (9/1), Last Page (20/1), Moonraker (50/1)
Power Link has some scope to improve further and is highly respected, while Baby Steps and Watchable will be dangerous if they can slip the field with their early pace. However, EL HOMBRE is fresher than most and, as a previous C&D winner, who is best when able to settle on the back of a strong tempo, he might juts have the race run to suit. This is likely to be an active betting market and any support for Dizzy G to at least make the frame would also have solid foundation.
- El Hombre
- Power Link
- Baby Steps
