Has produced a number of laboured runs in defeat over hurdles in the last 12 months. Unlikely to be making a significant impact on chasing debut here.
Only two wins of the Montmartre geldings career have both come in a couple of bumpers. Has failed to hit the frame in six starts over hurdles and possibly best watched on chasing introduction unless market vibes suggest otherwise.
Yet to hit the frame in eight career starts so far. Will need to raise overall profile to play a part on debut over fences.
First two career starts over the larger obstacles did not go to plan, failing to complete on both occasions. Fourth of 14 beaten over 6L on an improved start at Sligo last month. More needed but not one to put a line through.
Disappointing 10-race maiden without a win in nine starts over hurdles. One to watch with the Getaway gelding making his debut over fences here unless market suggests otherwise.
Was a very impressive winner in a bumper at Ballinrobe a couple of starts back over the extended 2m1f distance. Beat Hollow gelding is a half-brother to bumper winner Itsonlyrocknroll. Likely to be a warm order on chase debut.
Posted a career best effort when finishing second of four beaten 1¼L in a Perth 3m handicap chase last month. Should be able to get competitive in this company.
Winner of a couple of point-to-point starts in November and finished second of nine in a Naas novice hurdle in February, but overall form over timber leaves a little to be desired. Market check on first start over fences.
Nine-race maiden without a win in seven starts over hurdles and no impression when eased three out on chasing debut at Roscommon last month. Plenty to find in this contest.
Not beaten far in two career starts over the larger obstacles finishing third of nine beaten 1¾L at Wexford in July. One to note in this contest.
Forecasts
Roney (2/1), Golazo (7/2), Getaday (5/1), First Class Return (7/1), The Echo Boy (10/1), Batcio (12/1), Pistol Shoot (14/1), Elegant Dan (16/1), Weihnachts (50/1), Auction Reminder (100/1)
The Willie Mullins-trained GALAZO can get off the mark for connections on his chasing debut and could have been found an ideal opportunity to land the spoils stepping up in trip. Improving with every start over fences, Pistol Shoot for trainer Gordon Elliott can announce himself as the biggest threat to the selection following a solid run at Perth last month. There could be some interest in the Paul Nolan-trained Roney on his third start over the larger obstacles while any market move for the Ted Walsh-trained Batcio could prove informative.
- Golazo
- Pistol Shoot
- Roney
