C&D winner of this race 12 months ago beating 12 rivals off a 5lb lower mark. Without a win in nine starts over hurdles since but requires plenty of respect in this contest.
Off the mark for connections at the ninth attempt in a Limerick maiden hurdle but the early signs of promise have appeared to have abated in a number of below-par efforts since. Not in the form required to be recommended here.
Winner over C&D on one of her five starts over the combination. Returns to hurdles here following a couple of disappointing efforts over the larger obstacles since returning to action in August. Plenty to prove at present.
Without a win in eight starts over hurdles and has shown little or no aptitude in a couple of starts since returning from a lay-off last month. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here
Six-race maiden, well down the field in three below-par efforts over hurdles since May. Will need to raise overall profile to play a part here.
Beaten over 70L on each of his two most recent starts over hurdles at Ballinrobe and last month at Galway. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.
Flat winner registered her best effort over hurdles so far when finishing 5½L third over 2m3f at Downpatrick last month. Unseated rider on her latest start at Gowran Park earlier this month. Not to be taken lightly.
12-race maiden, still looking for a first success over hurdles in eight starts. Hasn't looked like a winner in waiting in a number of recent starts at Tramore and Gowran Park.
Long standing maiden has only hit the frame on a couple of occasions from 16 starts. Needs to improve significantly if he is to play a role here on second start for new connections.
Miserly return of one from 44 starts over hurdles. Recent efforts have been below-par and has not shown enough overall to be of interest here.
Forecasts
Lleyton (9/4), Macho Mover (4/1), Deauville Society (4/1), Athloman Cottage (7/1), Clouncerna (8/1), Shedding (10/1), Hugh Divots (25/1), Miss Tulpar (25/1), Cozziemodo (33/1), Island Villa (33/1)
C&D winner LLEYTON can get back to winning ways here. The seven-year-old has looked to be gearing up to defend the race he won 12 months ago off a 5lb lower mark in a couple of runs over hurdles at Clonmel and the larger obstacles at Downpatrick last month. Another C&D winner in the race Athloman Cottage is better than her most recent run at Clonmel over fences suggests and can give a good account of herself back over hurdles. Deauville Society registered her best effort over hurdles so far when finishing 5½L third over 2m3f at Downpatrick last month and can grab a place here.
- Lleyton
- Athloman Cottage
- Deauville Society
