Shown resolution lately and chases a fifth win of his 2019 campaign; he's 11lb higher than when his winning spree started in May but he's answered most questions with a straightforward answer. Will take a determined rival to lower his colours.
Closely matched with Charlie D and finished 3L ahead of his old rival when they met here last month; but he's up another 2lb and will do well to uphold the form on these revised terms. Best AW form posted at Chelmsford so far but still respected.
Put together a sequence of bold performances this season and has thrived since reverting to the Flat; raced keenly when held off this mark at Kempton latest but unexposed at this trip so possible he might find more. The betting can guide.
No match for a bang-in-form rival (who has gone in again since) when headed near the finish at Kempton last month but it was still an encouraging effort on his first try at the trip. Nicely-bred colt with more to offer; one to bear in mind.
A consistent type and was just ahead of Seaborn when they met at Kempton last month (they meet on the same terms again) so has a reasonable chance at the weights. (The rider's claim helps on that score.) 0-8 on the AW, though.
Made all to beat an 86-rated rival in a three-runner race at Chelmsford last time and showed a good attitude under pressure that day. More needed but he's going the right way and not much to find from just a 3lb higher mark.
Always perilous to rule out runners from this yard when they step up in trip even though stablemates over at Newmarket will be more popular on the day. Her best form has come on the AW so far and she's a threat to all under the fillies allowance.
Forecasts
Great Bear (9/4), Australis (5/2), Houlton (5/1), Charlie D (6/1), Albanita (8/1), Seaborn (11/1), Sufi (16/1)
Charlie D has been in sparkling form and can reverse placings with Houlton on the revised terms. However, he's reluctantly passed over and slender preference is for the unexposed GREAT BEAR, who is a well-bred individaul that has more to offer now he's proved he has the stamina for this sort of trip. Australis and the filly Albanita complete a good hand for the three-year-olds and are certainly worth monitoring for signs of interest from the betting market in what is a tight one to call.
- Great Bear
- Charlie D
- Australis
