Won a Curragh good to firm handicap over this trip off a similar mark in May this year. Generally holding his form well since but always susceptible to one or two better handicapped sorts lurking on the card.

Not discredited in a number of starts this term. Could be a lively outsider having gone well on heavy ground previously and now 11lb lower than last winning mark in first-time blinkers.

Not disgraced in a number of handicap starts since June. Still a little high in the weights but merits plenty of respect here.

Continues to run well off his revised mark since landing a Killarney 1m soft ground handicap in August off a 10lb lower mark. Solid and consistent sort who should go well again.

Dare To Flare (7/4), Cyrus Dallin (11/4), Spanish Tenor (6/1), Red Striker (6/1), Takeachancejimmy (14/1), Aussie Valentine (14/1), Check My Pulse (14/1), Muzbid (25/1)

Verdict

The tough and genuine Dandy Man gelding DARE TO FLARE can land the spoils in the closer for trainer Andrew Slattery. The three-year-old has held his form throughout the season and can add to his win at Killarney in August at the expense of Cyrus Dallin, winner of two of his last four start. Aussie Valentine and Spanish Tenor can compete for the minor honours.
