Hasn't proved to be quite as good as his 2yo Listed win suggested but appreciated a recent return to handicap company when winning a 0-105 Doncaster event over an extended 6f. now make AW debut; has a tendency to follow a good run with a bad one.
Smart AW sprinter who comes her on a hat-trick having just recorded his first win over 6f (hasn't had much racing at the trip); latest win a career-best effort. Yet to win at Kempton though (placed twice) and that factor slightly tempers enthusiasm.
Has form that ties in with Royal Birth beating him at Chelmsford in June but finished behind him there last time turning in a rare poor effort. Most of his best AW form has come at Chelmsford (course winner here; 7f); others appeal more.
Took advantage of the scenario presented in an optional claiming handicap over 6f (Chelmsford) to return to winning form in August. Little solid form on turf of late; back to form returned to his last winning C&D last time; tough task at weights.
Not seen in winning form since landing back-to-back AW 6f novice events at Chelmsford early last year. Form in handicaps this year on turf at its best in the summer (good ground); below-par last time; faces a hard enough task on these terms.
Smart handicapper who is well up to this level having run well on his first two starts for this yard (behind the flourishing Dakota Gold both times). May have fund the race coming too soon when below-par in the Portland last time; hard to rule out.
Forecasts
Marnie James (13/8), Enjazaat (7/4), Royal Birth (11/2), Danzan (10/1), Tropics (16/1), Unabated (20/1)
One or two prolific AW campaigners in this headed by Royal Birth who comes here on a hat-trick and could well yet prove to have more progress in him over this trip, he’s lightly raced at it and holds Tropics on their Chelmsford form last time. Enjazaat may still have some potential as a sprinter but he’s not yet experienced this surface and his tendency to turn in a below-par effort after his good runs is a noticeable trait. For that reason MARNIE JAMES is forgiven his lack lustre effort in the Portland last time his previous two runs starts for this yard looking to be amongst his best. 1-1 on Polytrack these terms allow him to be at the forefront of this contest.
- Marnie James
- Royal Birth
- Enjazaat
