Returned to form from out of the blue over 1m1f, heavy at Goodwood last time out keeping on well to be only beaten 2L. Stays further and should be at home in the conditions; favoured by the weights, strong claims if she can repeat that form.

Fair handicapper at his best but appears to be slightly short of his best at the moment in that sphere with the losing sequence starting to mount. Now back to his usual cheekpieces after a try in blinkers last time; fair bit to do at the weights.

Appeared suited by a return to Polytrack (had previously run well on the same surface) when taking a 1m4f handicap in August (second handicap start). Failed to repeat that run last time (same surface, different track); drops in trip back on turf.

Fairly useful handicapper in the past but performed to nothing like his previous levels of late over a variety of trips on turf/AW. Type this yard can rejuvenate from out of the blue although the market may well signal his current wellbeing.

Turned in his best effort recently on his first AW start taking a significant drop in grade to selling handicap company. Failed to follow up in a similar event at Brighton; not the most consistent and comes with question marks against his chance.

Started big prices on all fours starts so far including on handicap debut on his most recent start at trips up to 1m. Finished last on that first attempt in a handicaps, drops in grade, plenty to find not one who really appeals.

Finally off the mark capitalising on the drop in grade when scoring in a Chepstow seller over this trip but on much quicker ground (has shown she can act on soft). This is tougher but with that win under her belt she may be able to step forward again

Soft ground 1m2f handicap winner last year at Newmarket last year she's never come close to repeating that level of form. Mixed bag of performances this year; failed to get home over 1m4f (heavy) last time, others remain more convincing.

Five starts so far and yet to even hint at some level of ability having been tried over a variety of trips on turf/AW including in handicaps. Hard to envisage him making any impact even at this level.

Failed to make much of an impact in three bumpers (failed to look to have the stamina for that sphere). Offered even less switched to the Flat in a couple of minor events, folded tamely last time.

Winner of a 6f heavy ground handicap early last year he's only produced three laboured efforts in 6f/7f Class 6 handicaps since then. Stamina and the ability to act on the ground require proof; those aspects make her chance limited.

Verdict

Three-year-olds have won this event in four of the six years that the event has been run but they appear to face a tough task to keep that record intact this year. Steeve and Elegant Love give them some sort of chance but neither have the credentials to live with the useful 4yo PLAIT who returned to her best last time when second at Goodwood handling the conditions well. Not many of the others make much appeal although it would be wrong to totally write off the chances of Dawn Treader and Lieutenant Conde.
