Off the mark for connections at the seventh attempt when landing a Tipperary handicap hurdle in May; pulled up when last seen out in June and tough ask on chase bow.
Has completed just one of his four point-to-point outings and unlikely to be good enough on first outing since February.
Won a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last November before being outclassed in a Grade 1 event at Leopardstown in December; well thought of by connections and probably the pick in this weak-looking race.
Best form is being placed in a couple of maiden hurdles last season but has been disappointing all year including being tailed off in a Flat race at Cork recently; others definitely preferred.
Very little to enthuse about in five dismal efforts over hurdles since making his debut at Cork in November. Failed to make any impact on chasing debut at Sligo recently and possibly similar story here.
Won a maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan in May but struggled subsequently in handicaps at Bellewstown and Killarney; one of the better contenders but still looks an unlikely winner on chase debut.
Has some ability over hurdles and finished 3rd in a handicap hurdle here yesterday. Just to one tame chase effort to judge him on but capable of running well.
Inconsistent gelding who failed miserably for new connections last time out at Navan; hard to make a case for.
Failed to complete two beginner's chases at Listowel and Tramore but putting in a better effort in a novice chase on latest start; may be the one to give the likely favourite most to do.
Forecasts
Daly Tiger (3/10), Pass Hymn (4/1), Brogine (7/1), Ask And Answer (10/1), Muyam Spirit (16/1), Captain Cruiser (25/1), Subset (25/1), English Pale (40/1), Lovely Carrig (50/1)
It is difficult to look beyond DALY TIGER given his connections thought him being good enough to run in a Grade 1 novice hurdle; if he can translate that reputation over fences and there seems no reason why he can't then he is likely to be sent off a warm favourite here. Brogine may be able to put his chase experience to good use and will have been given a confidence boost by completing a race for the first time at Listowel last time out. Muyam Spirit has the advantage of winning a race in the past and may be one of the few in serious contention for place prize money.
