17:30 Newcastle Mon 7 October 2019
Scored over this distance at Lingfield back in March to break his maiden. His form has dropped recently, including latest when he was fourth of five on the AW at Chelmsford (1m5½f). Down in trip here off a 1lb lower mark. One for the shortlist.
Experienced gelding who recorded back-to-back wins earlier this year. He has struggled since then though. Could only finish 12th of 14 last time here (7f). Visor is on for the first time. Is down 3lb but hard to fancy on recent evidence.
Broke his maiden over this C&D back in February but has not been able to follow it up since. Never got into the contest last time here over 1m4½f. Back down in trip and has been eased 3lb. Others appeal more.
A C&D winner here, however, that success was back in September 2017. He has been a long way down the field on his last two starts, including when he was sixth of seven at Hamilton (1m1f). Is now 5lb below his last winning mark. Has to be respected.
Remains a maiden after 11 runs. He has failed to beat a single horse on his last two appearances. His latest effort came at Carlisle (1m) in a 13 runner contest. Has since had a wind-op and has a tongue-tie on for the first time here. Best to watch.
Still looking for his first win after six starts. He produced his best effort to date last time as he was fifth of 12 at Hamilton (1m1f), beaten by just 2¾L. Drops down 1lb. Remains open to improvement so he can't be discounted.
Won over this C&D last time in what was the second success of her career. Stayed on well in the closing stages last time. Has gone up 5lb in the weights but she remains a leading contender as she has won off a much higher mark.
Has not won since prevailing at Catterick (1m4f) back in September 2018. Made his first outing for his new yard last time where he was last of 11 runners. Has cheekpieces on for the first time here. Hard to fancy on recent form.
Has yet to score in 10 attempts. He has come close on a couple of occasions on turf this year though. Could only finish ninth of 15 last time at Catterick (1m4f). Set for only his second appearance on the AW here. Best to watch.
His sole success came on turf at Hamilton (1m1f) in May 2018. Is 0-5 on the AW, although he did come close to his first victory on this surface last time as he was only ¾L away when third of 14 at Newcastle (1m). Back up in trip. One to consider.
Is still a maiden following eight outings. He was ninth of 13 last time at Ayr (1m). Has gone down 2lb to a new career low mark and is having his first shot at this trip on the AW surface. Needs to improve.
Experienced mare who was successful over this distance at Beverley three starts ago. She was second of nine last time at Ripon (1m3f). Has to be respected off this mark but she still has to prove herself on this surface.
Was successful at Mussleburgh (1m1f) on his second start of the season back in May. Has been unable to add to that since, although he has come very close on a couple of occasions. Was fifth of 14 here last time over 1m. Has each-way claims.
Is a maiden after 12 starts. He was beaten by just a neck at Hamilton (1m½f) three runs ago. Was disappointing last time though, as he was eighth of nine over that same C&D. Others are preferred here.
