Presenting gelding bought for €35,000 as a three-year-old. Related to multiple winner and promising second on Plumpton debut in April (fancied) behind Strike The Flint. Likely to be in the thick of this on return.

Stowaway mare, placed in one Irish point-to-point start and ready winner of a five-runner C&D bumper on Rules debut in June. This looks tougher on paper and she'll likely require improvement after the break to go in again.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden

Changed hands for £80,000 after making a winning point-to-point debut back in March, yard well capable of having him ready for this Rules bow.
4

Tailed off in bumpers at Ffos Las and Chepstow early in the calendar year, he'll require significant improvement after his layoff to get competitive.
5

Plenty of experience picked up in Irish point-to-points, with a couple of places under his belt. Stable also run April's Plumpton bumper winner Strike The Flint; so interesting to see how they compare in the betting.
6

€39,000 son of Shantou, finished moderate third on bumper debut at Huntingdon in May. Likely to improve on the bare form and yard going well right now.
Backed at long odds on Ascot debut in February and quickly left that form behind when making all in similar event at Plumpton (Baddesley second). Ben Godfrey's claim a clear help. Trainer also runs Oscarsman.
Dual Irish point-to-point winner. Trainer won this contest 12 months and champion jockey's mount receives weight from her rivals on this racecourse introduction. Noted newcomer.

Forecasts

Winter Getaway (2/1), Exod'ela (3/1), Shantou Vow (7/2), Baddesley (6/1), Strike The Flint (8/1), Corrie Lake (14/1), Oscarsman (25/1), Kalabee (66/1)

Verdict

Corrie Lake won over C&D in June and may be popular again but this looks a tougher assignment on paper and improvement should be demanded. Strike The Flint got the better of Baddesley at Plumpton in April having made every yard but they, too, are possibly in deeper waters now. The newcomers are responsible for that theory. Exod'ela cost decent money after a winning point-to-point debut back in March but preference is for WINTER GETAWAY. Twice a winner in Irish point-to-points, she represents last year's winning trainer/jockey combination and can make the most of the weight she gets today.
  1. Winter Getaway
  2. Exod'ela
  3. Strike The Flint
