5F Chepstow winner earlier in the campaign showed she now appreciates 6f with solid thirds over the trip the last twice. Handicap mark of 83 marks her out as useful but beatable in such a contest.

Impressive Newbury winner on debut found Group Three races since a tough nut to crack. This however a clear step down in class and she looks likely to make a bold bid now.

Showed little when seventh of 12 on debut over C&D and was again well held at Ripon latest. Represents powerful connections but not seen enough to fancy her.

Fourth of four at Chepstow and third of seven at Brighton fair efforts marking her out as a likely sort for handicaps after today.
Newcomer by Dark Angel cost €105,000 at the breeze-ups and is pretty speedily bred out of a two-year-old winning dam. Best watched here however in a strong race to start off.

£13,000 breeze-up buy by Brazen Beau is best watched on debut based on yard's two-year-old record.

7/2
73-rated son of Kodiac a maiden after four starts. Too keen when fifth in a 7f handicap at Salisbury last time out so perhaps 6f here will suit; AW for the first time here but her sire's progeny tend to appreciate the surface.
Newcomer by Iffraaj a half-sister to winners Group 3 winning two-year-old Kilmah and two others and out of a Listed winning dam so one to note in the market for powerful connections.

6/4
Once raced daughter of Poet's Voice was slowly into stride before rallying and finishing second at Sandown in a 5f contest three weeks ago. Step up to 6f and experience gained there mark her a leading player.
75,000gns newcomer by Charm Spirit a half-sister to six winners but the vast majority of them excelled at distances beyond a mile. Worth watching but in all likelihood she's one for three-year-old middle distance races.

Forecasts

Qaseeda (6/4), So Sharp (9/4), Masaakin (7/2), Tuscan Oasis (10/1), Glamorous Anna (11/1), Cindy Bear (12/1), Tiritomba (12/1), Perfect Sunset (33/1), Spinacia (50/1), Indyzeb (100/1), Lipslikecherries (100/1), Little Floozie (150/1)

Verdict

Archie Watson has had 56 two-year-old winners this year so the fact that he deemed SO SHARP good enough to race at Group level the last twice is surely indicative of the high regard in which this filly is held at home. Although she came up short there she will take a bit of beating back at this level. Qaseeda rates the main danger after running with plenty of promise on debut and the 7lb she receives from the selection has to help. Of the newcomers Tuscan Oasis appeals the most on pedigree.
  1. So Sharp
  2. Qaseeda
  3. Tuscan Oasis
