Disappointed connections in the Grade 3 2m2f novice chase at the Galway festival last month, but the manner of his first couple of starts over fences puts the gelding in the mix here.

Solid and consistent type, running well in defeat in a number of starts over fences including finishing fourth of 10 in a Sligo handicap chase over 2m1f earlier this month. More needed in this company.

Off the mark for connections at the fourth attempt when landing a 13-runner Listowel beginners contest by 19L when getting the run of the race on yielding ground earlier this month. Leading player.
Appears to have been the race in mind following an impressive win in a Killarney beginners contest over 2m1f last month, winning by an extending 6½L. Lively contender with his handler winning this race on three occasions in the last six renewals.

Nothing of note since a win at Punchestown over the larger obstacles in June, the gelding second success over fences. Very little to be positive about.

Off the mark for connections at the seventh time of asking when landing a beginners contest here over 2m5f on soft ground last month before a promising second of nine in novice company at Listowel earlier this month. Chance.

Verdict

A race won in the past by Ted Veale, The Game Changer and Landofhopeandglory, with trainer Henry De Bromhead landing the spoils in three of the last six renewals with, Darwin's Fox, Ridestan and 12 months ago with, Ornua. The trainer can add to his impressive tally here with DUE REWARD who got off the mark for his connections at the first time of asking over the larger obstacles in a Killarney beginners contest last month. Listowel winner, Djingle for trainer John Queally and the Willie Mullins-trained Cool Colonade appear to be next best, while the mare, Grey Waters is no forlorn hope.
