Pacy juvenile who has a strong catalogue of form. Well held sent off odds-on for Musselburgh conditions stakes (5f) last time but back into easier company in this. Player.

Solid winner of two-year-old handicap over C&D on penultimate start but well held off current mark at Catterick (6f) last time. Doesn't appeal as the trainer's first string.

Sole win came in C&D maiden in June and had been running respectably before 11th of 17 at Ayr (6f, good) ten days ago. Will appreciate the stamina test however.

Chester novice winner on penultimate start but firmly put in place by Mum's Tipple in 6f York Sales Race last time. That form isn't working out well but respected on previous form.

Remains a maiden after five starts but put up encouraging performance with 2L fourth at Catterick (6f) last time. Place claims at best but looks as if he's the stable's second string.

Had failed to land a blow in each starts before causing shock on handicap bow at Ffos Las (6f) earlier this month. Form of that is questionable and another step up will be required.

Forecasts

National League (2/1), Makyon (5/2), One Hart (7/2), Good Night Mr Tom (11/2), Spygate (12/1), Rominintheglomin (25/1)

Verdict

NATIONAL LEAGUE was impressive in his victory at Chester and while he was well-beaten since, he stayed on nicely to suggest that he would be in need of a stamina test. He looks the one to beat ahead of Makyon, who sets the form standard but has to give significant weight away under testing conditions while his stable companion One Hart showed a liking for this track and is bred to stay.
  1. National League
  2. Makyon
  3. One Hart
