Course winner that has also won over this trip previously. Currently a 99-rated hurdler the Medicean gelding was last seen over the larger obstacles in November in the third of his three career defeats over fences so far.
Dismal record over hurdles well beaten in seven starts over timber. Not seen since pulling up in March at Down Royal and best watched on chasing introduction.
17-race maiden well beaten last of five beaten over 62L on his sole start over fences at Sligo 12 months ago. Below-par 80-rated handicap hurdler since and easy to oppose on chasing return.
Hurdling without success over the summer the gelding was last seen over fences in November when pulling up in a Thurles beginners contest over 2m2f. Plenty to prove.
Winner over hurdles at Bellewstown 12 months ago the Fruits Of Love gelding was never a factor when beaten over 75L on sole chase start at Killarney last month. Makes little appeal in this company.
Seven-race maiden well beaten and never nearer in bumper and hurdle starts before finishing fifth of seven beaten over 14L on chasing debut here over 2m3½f last month. This appears a weaker event and is worthy of a market check.
Will have delighted connections on chasing debut at Listowel earlier this month finishing third of 13 behind Djingle over 2m1f on yielding ground. Room for improvement in this company.
Scorpion gelding, winner of one of his 16 starts over hurdles. Out of form when last seen in the spring and possibly best watched on debut over the larger obstacles here.
Off the mark over hurdles in March, the gelding was in rear for most of the way on chasing debut at Galway earlier this month before finishing 11th of 14 beaten 31L. Needs to improve significantly in this contest.
Winner over hurdles in May but badly out of form over the summer over timber and, when last seen, on the Flat at Bellewstown in July. Market check required on chasing bow.
Won at this venue over hurdles in July before pulling up on chasing debut in a Tramore beginners contest last month. Looks opposable.
Without success in five starts over hurdles and left with something to prove on chasing debut on the balance of her starts over the summer.
Forecasts
Scotch Quay (6/4), Young Dev (6/1), Inishbel (7/1), Ashjan (8/1), Arctic Sofia (8/1), Rock On Aussie (10/1), Lleyton (11/1), Mohart (14/1), The Perch (16/1), Sea Scorpion (25/1), Easy Cash D'Alex (33/1), General Gold (33/1)
The Arakan gelding, SCOTCH QUAY has the best form over the larger obstacles on show and can land the spoils in a weak looking beginners chase. The six-year-old will have delighted connections on chasing debut at Listowel earlier this month finishing third of 13 behind Djingle over 2m1f on yielding ground. Rock On Aussie was held up and jumped reasonably well on debut over fences at this venue last month and could emerge as the biggest danger. Ashjan, Mohart, Young Dev, Inishbel and Arctic Sofia are all rated between 99 and 101 over hurdles.
- Scotch Quay
- Rock On Aussie
- Ashjan
