Smart performer over timber and fences, has hit the frame in all three of her starts including a couple of victories at Tipperary and on her latest start in a Wexford handicap hurdle earlier this month. Another bold bid expected.
Solid type over hurdles but the Presenting gelding remains an eight-race maiden over the larger obstacles. Ran well in defeat over fences at Killarney last month but liable to find one or two stronger again.
More hurdling than chasing of late winning on a couple of occasions over timber since May. Sole chase win in seven came in a Down Royal handicap over a similar trip off a 9lb lower mark in December. Worth a place on the shortlist.
Nicely off the mark at the fifth time of asking when landing a Cartmel 2m5f handicap on good to soft ground last month off a 4lb lower mark. Looks well treated and a leading player in this contest.
Winner of two of his 12 starts over the larger obstacles but comes here on the back of a heavy defeat when returning from a 341 day break at Wexford over 3m1f earlier this month. Market likely to be the best guide.
Broke his maiden at Sligo in a 2m5f handicap chase off a 5lb lower mark in this contest 12 months ago. Beaten but not disgraced before the end of the year. Not seen since December and looks to have plenty to prove.
13-race maiden looking for a first chase win in 10 starts here. Not the most reliable of types and others appear to be holding stronger claims in this event.
Without a win in 16 career starts and still looking for a breakthrough success in seven starts over the larger obstacles, hitting the frame on just one occasion. Needs to improve significantly.
Experienced chaser who has just the one win from his 28 starts. That sole success came back in October 2014 at Thurles over this trip in a beginners contest on chase debut. May find this tough.
Forecasts
Allduckornodinner (7/2), Shes Flat Tothemat (4/1), Mister Butler (9/2), Unchago (7/1), Select Opportunity (15/2), Mash Potato (8/1), Allied Victory (8/1), Robin De Roost (16/1), Whats In It For Me (16/1)
MASH POTATO landed a Cartmel 2m5f handicap chase last month in facile style winning by 16L and can continue his good run of form here. The nine-year-old was not winning out of turn and running off a 4lb higher mark can just edge it from another in form gelding Allduckornodinner a winner at Wexford earlier this month over hurdles. Shes Flat Tothemat looks the biggest threat to the main protagonists.
- Mash Potato
- Allduckornodinner
- Shes Flat Tothemat
