Had a modest career over hurdles, with his sole success coming at Wetherby (2m3½f). He struggled at the back end of last season but he goes well fresh. Best to watch on his opening appearance over fences.

Has been running consistently well since switching to fences earlier this year. He scored at Kempton (2m4½f) back in May and since then has finished second on all three of his starts. One for the shortlist off this mark.

Made his debut over fences at Fontwell (2m5½f) last time where he unseated his rider at the second fence. Was successful three times over hurdles. Can't discount on his second chase start.

Lightly-raced gelding who won twice in three starts over hurdles. He fell on his chase debut at Hexham (2m4f), while last time he was ninth of 10 at Kempton (2m2f). Needs to improve over fences.

4/1
Experienced gelding who was successful over fences for the first time at Bangor (3m) on his latest start, scoring by 5L in the five runner field. Has gone up 7lb for that win. One to consider as he looks to follow up.

Still a maiden following 12 starts, however, he has gone close on a number of occasions over hurdles. He was third of six last time at Worcester (2m7f) where he went off as the 5/6 favourite. Switch to fences may help. Has to be respected.

Broke his maiden over fences back in April at Newton Abbot (3m2f). Had a wind-op after that win and his form has been poor in three starts since then. Down 2lb in the weights. Needs to bounce back.

A point-to-point winner who is still looking for his first win under Rules. Has been disappointing on his two chase appearances to date, including latest at Worcester (2m4f) where he was fifth of seven. Others are preferred.

Forecasts

Templepark (6/4), Manofthemountain (11/4), Anteros (4/1), Kapgarry (9/2), Ballygown Bay (8/1), Primal Focus (10/1), Heart Of Kernow (11/1), Royal Hall (18/1), Perpignan (25/1)

Verdict

MANOFTHEMOUNTAIN made a winning start to his chase career at Newton Abbot and he can follow it up here with more glory, defying his 4lb rise in the weights as there is likely to be much more to come from the gelding. Anteros is also looking for his second straight win over fences and is sure to be in the mix over this distance, while Templepark has been in contention at the finish in all of his latest four starts and that trend is likely to continue here.
  1. Manofthemountain
  2. Anteros
  3. Templepark
