Difficult customer to weigh up having been provided with a good winning opportunity when taking a Beverley selling handicap (last run for previous connections). Looks to remain in form for this yard, shaped well enough in better grade last time.

Makes debut for this yard having shown signs of a revival this term for Tim Easterby without full recovering his winning form. Beaten in a Beverley selling handicap when last seen (travelled well); lurks dangerously 3lb below his last winning mark.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: Sean Davis(3)| T: G Elliott| OR:  56
20/1
Flat/hurdles maiden (0-24) who hasn't been seen on the level since late last year (AW, Dundalk). Shown only modest form on this sphere in a variety of events and over various trips; given a big chance by the handicapper, market positivity a plus.

Modest handicapper who hasn't matched his five-win 2018 season but did bounce back to form last time at Chepstow over 1m4f (no match for a well-weighted winner). Fairly treated on recent efforts; could well have a part to play off this sort of mark.

Surprise Perth hurdles winner the progress he showed when successful there being carried over onto the Flat. Twice run well since (1m6f, Musselburgh) finishing a good third on the first occasion; ran better than finishing position suggests last time.

Steps up significantly in trip as connections seek a solution to his long barren run which now stretches to 25 runs. Appears to be merely ticking over at present and provides little inspiration for win purposes; trip likely to test suspect stamina.

Produced a shock to score on her hurdles debut recently having just her third start for this yard. Had shown little for them on the level (had looked temperamental); has a lowly mark to work with back on the Flat, hard to ignore.

Useful hurdler; completed a four-time last year and ran in a handicap off a mark of 132. Not seen since being given a stiff task over timer in a Grade 2 event over 2m; showed very little on Flat before, thrown in off this mark if ready to go.

Course winner whose two summer hurdles wins haven't really provided the springboard for a full Flat revival. Failed to stay 1m6f in soft underfoot conditions last time at Carlisle, better at this trip but faces some well handicapped rivals.

Modest maiden who often looks temperamental/ungenuine; takes a marked step up in trip (not certain to stay this far). Merely underlined her consistency this year having run some moderate races of late, mostly at Ayr; others appeal more.

C&D winner but it's 16 starts since she last passed the post first with her recent form not really suggesting that the losing spell is going to be broken soon. Tried over various trips and in different conditions all to no avail; limited appeal.

Chica Buena (1/2), Kaizer (6/1), General Brook (10/1), Pammi (12/1), Frightened Rabbit (20/1), Viscount Wilson (20/1), Ezanak (20/1), Dr Richard Kimble (20/1), Princess Nearco (25/1), Doon Star (25/1), Gworn (25/1), Airplane (33/1)

Verdict

Just a lowly 0-60 event but the market could be fascinating with several of these returning to the Flat off good marks having been seemingly rejuvenated by running over hurdles. First and foremost amongst that group must be CHICA BUENA who is positively thrown in on her hurdles form and handicapped in this sphere on three modest Flat runs; she could make a mockery of her basement mark. Kaizer, Viscount Wilson and Princess Nearco are all others worth considering on the back of recent hurdles efforts especially the first-named who has run well on the Flat since gaining a shock Perth hurdles win. General Brook and Airplane are two others that should be noted, both are off good marks.
