Made a winning start for this yard under today's rider at Redcar (1m2f, good to firm) last month. Turned out a week later at Wolverhampton (1m½f, Tapeta) may have come too soon and might still have more to come for this team.
Comfortable winner at Wolverhampton (1m1½f, Tapeta) back in April but a mixed-bag in four runs since, including when beaten 3½L into fourth at Windsor (1m2f, good) 33 days ago. Still 4lb above last win and appears in the handicapper's grip.
Couldn't match an impressive winner at Sandown (1m2f, good to firm) last time out but had won twice before including impressively by 6L on the July Course. Leading amateur rider booked and is one for the shortlist on recent efforts.
Got up close home to win a Catterick claimer (1m4f, soft) 40 days ago, having also won a seller at Redcar (1m2f, good) by 6L three starts back. Will find life tougher down in trip and back in a handicap but jockey booking is a positive.
Won under today's rider at Sandown (1m, good to firm) back in July but burst a blood vessel when pulled up shortly after at Newbury. Better than the bare form at Sandown (1m, good to firm) last time but more required even on his winning form.
Best of the rest when beaten 8L into second at Musselburgh (1m1f, good to firm) last week. Pays for his consistency by hardly moving in the handicap and his record of one win in 16 means each-way possibilities are pretty good.
In form the last thrice, including a win at Brighton (1m2f, good to firm) two starts ago and a fair third back there last time. Drops to 1m1f for the first time in four years, however, so will need a strong pace to aid his cause.
Beaten in a photo at this course last October and also placed under today's rider, he possibly went off too quick at Sandown (1m2f, good to firm) last time out before being hampered. First-time blinkers today and possibilities if they do the trick.
Forecasts
Geranium (7/2), Ginger Fox (4/1), Regal Director (4/1), Long Call (5/1), First Flight (7/1), Steeve (8/1), Global Art (16/1), Biotic (16/1)
A tricky affair for amateur riders' with STEEVE given the tentative vote. His last run can be excused before which he was in good form and consistent. He has new headgear today and is back on a course he's ran well at before. Geranium comes into the race in good heart under a leading rider in these types of races whilst you can almost set your watch by the consistent Ginger Fox.
