Has responded to more tender handling with career-best performances when winning over 1m2f here and a narrow second over 1m4f at Ascot. Up 3lb and in trip and unlikely to be far away once again.

Remains 14lb higher than last win thanks to a consistent run of good performances in defeat. Close sixth in a strong York handicap last start is up with his best form and he's worth a try at this extra distance.

Multiple Group 3 winner in South Africa for Mike De Kock has run in four strong races so far for his new stable. Down 3lb but a bit to find with Eynhallow from his latest York run.

Consistent performer, won twice last year for Ralph Beckett and now having his fifth start for current yard. Stayed on well when third over this distance two starts back and will appreciate the return to this test. Has more to offer.

Back-to-back Wolverhampton (AW) winner at the start of the year and a good third at the same track on this month's reappearance. Chance revolves around him transferring that solid and progressive form to a turf surface.

8lb higher than back-to-back successes in May. Virtually pulled up at Sandown when unable to lead last time and while he clearly needs to bounce back, there is a chance he may get an easier time in front.

Was successful twice in 2018 and back to winning ways on his first try at this trip at Goodwood. Up 4lb and in class but that was a career-best and he has more to offer at this distance. Shouldn't be far away.

Now 23lb lower than when winning this in 2017 but just successful once since. On a very poor run of performances and would prefer cut in the ground.

Forecasts

Eynhallow (15/8), Summer Moon (9/4), Protected Guest (7/1), Past Master (7/1), Breath Caught (8/1), Hermoso Mundo (12/1), Flaming Marvel (14/1), Great Hall (50/1)

Verdict

SUMMER MOON has been highly tried since his last win and while he was poor last time, there's a good opportunity to dominate in this field and his June run at Doncaster suggested he's got more to offer at this staying distance. Tom Queally seems to have found the key with Protected Guest and while it will need another fine ride to cajole him to the finish, he's in form and likely to be involved again. Eynhallow is reliable and should stay this extra trip while Breath Caught and Past Master are still on upward curves.
  1. Summer Moon
  2. Protected Guest
  3. Eynhallow
