Handicap debutant finished fourth and fifth respectably in 1m4f AW novice events last month. Longer trip may help but not obviously been given a lenient mark.
Stayed on for a remote third of 10 in a 1m4f Wolverhampton maiden handicap latest. Maiden of seven now but goes up in trip for the first time and dam a half-sister to Leger winner Milan so it may help.
Shade disappointing the last twice over 1m2f but had twice been third over 1m4f earlier in the campaign on turf and given her lone win came on AW it can be argued she has ideal conditions for the first time here; hood an interesting addition.
Unplaced in eight career starts and although creeping towards a mark where he can be effective others ultimately make greater appeal.
Daughter of Allegretto, a Group One winner over 1m7½f hasn't got competitive in three starts at up to 1m2f so far but her pedigree is absolutely jam packed with stamina so upped in trip by fully 3f here a chance can be taken.
Ran well in fourth over 1m2f her two starts back so perhaps relatively unsurprising that he won easily next over 1m4f at Southwell. Upped 6lb today but looks a leading contender now with more to come upped in trip again.
Winner over 1m6f at Catterick ran well there next over third before good second stepping back to 1m4f at Thirsk latest. Found his level now over this sort of trip and as the only one with assured stamina he makes plenty of appeal.
Couldn't get involved on handicap debut over 1m2f when plugging on at the one pace into seventh of 11. Not seen enough to recommend him but suspect this trip will help.
Maiden of eight showed little in races from 7f to 2m this season and failed to beat a rival over 1m6f at Redcar latest. Others appeal more.
Unplaced in his five races to date and another dismal showing at Musselburgh latest reason enough to remove him from the list of likely sorts.
Forecasts
Blowing Dixie (11/4), Avenue Foch (3/1), Jeweller (6/1), Fragrant Belle (7/1), Robeam (7/1), Island Jungle (7/1), Cinzento (10/1), Allocated (25/1), Barb's Prince (25/1), Sleepdancer (50/1)
Although his actual form is somewhat ordinary JEWELLER is worth chancing now upped in trip. He is out of a multiple Group race winner at around 2m and his two winning siblings won races over 1m6f and 2m so everything points to great improvement for the trip which could see him make a mockery of this opening mark. Probably the one to beat is Robeam whose stamina is assured and the Northern raider is clearly in good form as shown at Thirsk latest. Blowing Dixie has improved for every step up in trip so must be respected as he again gets set a longer distance.
- Jeweller
- Robeam
