Couldn't fail to be impressed by her comprehensive debut success at Catterick over 7f last month where she won by 3¾L. Must give weight all round with the 7lb penalty but a bold bid remains likely.

Zebedee filly showed her inexperience on debut earlier this month (Newmarket, 1m, good/firm). 100-1, she was slowly away and showed little so is best watched for now.

Daughter of Sea The Moon out of an Oasis Dream mare and a half sister to two winners. Good stable haven't had too many juvenile runners this year so market should prove informative.

Half-sister to 1m2f-1m4f winner Missed Call was slow into stride and could never land a blow when fifth behind fellow debutante Toronado Queen at Catterick. Can't see any situation where she turns the tables.

85,000 guineas Teofilo filly ran better in her second start at Kempton but could still only muster eighth of 13. Another step forward needed to threaten the principals.

Bred to need a distance of ground, so hardly surprising she's been well held in two starts to date at up to 1m. Type to do better in staying handicaps, perhaps, but makes no appeal here.

Well bred filly being by Sea The Stars out of a Listed winner but having sold for €140,000 as a yearling she was unsold for €20,000 at the horses in training sale last December. Best watched.

Once raced daughter of New Approach looked a sure-fire future winner when second of 14 on debut at Kempton over 7f. Runners from this yard invariably improve on their second start so she looks the one to beat.

Cape Cross newcomer is the first foal out of a 1m4f winner from a good middle distance family. Newcomers from this yard almost always know the job first time up so a prominent showing is likely.

Left midfield Kempton debut behind when second of seven over 7½f at Beverley two weeks ago running in strongly at the finish. Should be more to come now and certainly one of the more likely sorts.

Forecasts

New Angel (6/4), Perfect Number (15/8), Toronado Queen (6/1), Serenading (8/1), Almahha (12/1), Limalima (16/1), Bustaan (16/1), Chamomile (33/1), Calima Calling (50/1), Adashelby (66/1), Indian Sea (66/1)

Verdict

Champion trainer John Gosden boasts a 33 per cent strike rate here this season and his NEW ANGEL looks the one to side with after debuting with credit at Kempton; a run which suggested she would improve for the experience. Catterick novices aren't perhaps a frequent source of classy debutantes but Toronado Queen was very impressive there so can't be taken lightly. Best of the rest may prove Serenading barring any of the debutantes being above average.
