Couldn't do much more than win on debut in four-runner contest at Nottingham in July. Rivals that day have a combined record of 1-15 so form may not amount to much but he is respected.
Shown some steady improvement in recent weeks and landed a nursery at Musselburgh (5f, good) in August. Fifth here latest when appearing stretched by 6f but more expected of him now in a point and shoot straight 5f with speed the ace card.
Third in novice/maiden events at Windsor (5f), Sandown (5f) and Newmarket (July) (6f). Looks to have amongst the best form then and with strongest rivals both under penalties this is a real chance now.
Canford Cliffs colt couldn't match two runners with prior experience when fading to be last of three at Bath a fortnight ago. Should come on for the run but was pretty soundly beaten in the end so others preferred.
Raced prominently in the Brocklesby; a race the yard always targets but weakened into 14th of 17 and he also struggled under similar tactics next at Beverley when ninth of 11. Back from a five month break he has plenty to prove.
Not seen enough in races at Lingfield (10th of 13) or Newcastle (ninth of 12) to recommend him but in good hands so sure he can improve with time.
Forecasts
Colonel Whitehead (7/4), Mr Duepearl (5/2), Too Hard To Hold (3/1), Rushcutters Bay (5/1), Freshwater Cliffs (25/1), Hell Of A Joker (33/1)
This looks a good opportunity for COLONEL WHITEHEAD who is rated 1lb better than Too Hard To Hold yet he receives 7lb from that rival. With this in mind the bigger danger may prove to be unbeaten Nottingham winner Mr Duepearl. The other three looks up against it on evidence so far.
