Beaten just once this season and twice a winner at this level, landing Haydock's Lancashire Oaks (1m4f, good to firm) before thrashing Manuela de Vega in the Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood (1m6f, good to firm); is very difficult to oppose.

Bettered her July Newmarket Listed success (1m4f, good) when staying on for pressure in deep ground in the Group 2 Prix De Pomone at Deauville (1m4f+, heavy); remains on a steady upward curve and receives a handy 10lb from Enbihaar; player.

Gowran Park maiden winner (1m+, soft); has shown improvement this season in making the transition into pattern races; finished a keeping on (never able to challenge) 66-1 fifth to Anapurna in the Oaks; one of three declared by Aidan O'Brien.

Went close to landing the hat-trick when beaten by a neck in a Class 2 fillies' handicap at Newmarket (1m6f, good); takes a complete leap into the unknown; appears to have masses to find at the weights against far superior rivals.

Beat stablemate South Sea Pearl (fourth) when a game winner of the Group 3 Stanerra Stakes at Leopardstown (1m6f, good to firm) in July; below that level of form since, and seemingly held by both Enbihaar and Dame Maillot.

Comfortable winner of the Listed Vinnie Roe Stakes (1m6f, good) at Leopardstown in July; left toiling by Enbihaar (Lillie Langtry), Dame Maillot (Prix De Pomone) and the great Enable (Yorkshire Oaks) in three subsequent starts.

Runner-up in the Group 2 May Hill (1m) here last September; has enjoyed a fruitful summer period, culminating with a narrow defeat in the Group 3 Prix Minerve at Deauville (1m4f+, good) latest; is worth a try at today's longer trip.

Consistent; proved herself as far more than a very capable handicapper when bursting through between horses for a 5L win in the Listed Chester Stakes (1m6f, good) just under a fortnight ago; open to more improvement (is required).

Forecasts

Enbihaar (6/5), Dame Malliot (9/4), Delphinia (15/2), Vivid Diamond (12/1), Star Terms (12/1), South Sea Pearl (20/1), Oydis (33/1), Peach Tree (33/1)

Verdict

Vivid Diamond took a sizeable step forward when introduced to a test of stamina in the Listed Chester Stakes just under a fortnight ago, and out of a Hurricane Run mare is open to considerably more improvement at this 1m6f trip. However, she has plenty of improvement to find in order to trouble the likes of ENBIHAAR and Dame Maillot. The very talented John Gosden-trained filly seeks the hat-trick following a 5L romp in the Lillie Langtry Stakes (at Glorious Goodwood) and rates as difficult to oppose.
  1. Enbihaar
  2. Dame Malliot
  3. Vivid Diamond
