C&D winner (first-time blinkers); left with a simple task though (both rivals underperformed). Overall profile suggests that he's not the most reliable citizen having not always convinced with his jumping or attitude; follow up far from certain.

Very consistent since joining this yard/returning from a break (yet to finish out of the first two here; won three times). Won twice over hurdles (2m4f) at this venue before switching to fences (221); made the most of a good opportunity last time.

Four-time winner for this yard taking a Fairyhouse novice (2m2f) in February (very fortunate winner). Never come near following up that victory in four starts since, the latest two over hurdles; looks too high in the weights returning to fences.

Off the mark over fences in a slightly easier grade at Uttoxeter in September (7lb higher now); plenty of creditable efforts to his name since then. Shaped better than the bare result last time (needed run; in the mix for a long way); respected.

Became disappointing after winning three times in 2015/16 including on his one run after a wind op for Dan Skelton (very well backed; finished last). New handler; visor on for first-time, features on a fair mark if he can find his old form.

Useful in the past but very much on the downgrade these days and his efforts for this yard including the latest over hurdles (back from a break) have underwhelmed. Returns to fences but faces a difficult task; holds limited appeal.

Verdict

The course form of AMALFI DOUG reads 11221 and he built on his two C&D chase runner-up slots to record a first chase win last time by an impressive 30L although the form doesn’t look the strongest on paper. However, he did jump well and he’s well worth siding with again to add to the impressive Perth form figures. Mustmeetalady was raised 7lb for his C&D win last time but that form looks weak and a bigger danger may well loom in the shape of Soupy Soups who has dropped to a handy mark and is better than his recent form figures would suggest. The others look set to struggle although Wings Attract is interesting off a much-reduced mark starting out life for a new stable.
