Three-time (two C&D) course winning bold-jumping front-runner; won his last two chase starts, the latest at Market Rasen off a career-high mark. Well beaten over hurdles here last time; returns to fencing off a stiff mark; still respected.
All three wins have come over C&D (beat Amalfi Doug, winner since, runs later on the card, last time). Much improved last two starts (last time in first-time cheekpieces; retained); often goes from the front, 12lb higher than last time.
Taken well to fences (improved on his hurdles form); made a winning debut at Ffos Las before stumbling badly 3 out when looking set to follow up. Found out in better company last time; may be better suited to handicaps in this sphere.
Put a blemish on a decent chase record (3-13) when pulled up over C&D last time (race may have come too soon); race won by Creadan Grae. Generally goes well at this venue (11221P); 2lb out of the weights, may bounce back having been rested.
Enigmatic character (difficult to win with) who this yard found the key to when he won for them here over 2m last year (first-time visor). Reverted to type since (run out twice, including last start); tends to run his better races around here.
Forecasts
Creadan Grae (2/1), Le Musee (5/2), Indian Temple (11/4), Boy's On Tour (6/1), Go West Young Man (22/1)
A small-field handicap chase but one that is sure to be run at a good pace with Indian Temple for one an out-and-out front runner. He’s sure to appreciate the return to fences having been below his best over hurdles here last time but he may face pace pressure from the ever-improving and unbeaten (3-3) Perth specialist CREADAN GRAE who despite a 12lb rise for his last win may well be able to add a fourth C&D success. Le Musee tackles handicap company for the first time over fences and that may well suit him better although his mark looks a little harsh. Boys On Tour despite a blemish on his excellent Perth record last time has to be respected despite being out of the weights.
- Creadan Grae
- Indian Temple
- Boy's On Tour
