Has been disappointing in maiden hurdles, novice hurdles and lately over fences; no real reason why he will return to the form that saw him win a bumper and point-to-point race in 2017.
13-race maiden hurdler who has shown little to moderate form on his racecourse appearances. No obvious reason why he would show sudden improvement though drop in class give him a slight chance.
High class bumper horse who was fourth to Ballyandy in the 2016 Champion Bumper. Showed some promise in maiden hurdles but back from a lengthy break with fitness to prove following poor run at Gowran Park in March.
11-race maiden hurdler posted a career best over timber on his penultimate start at Limerick in July over 2m4f before reverting to type last time out at Killarney. Can't be backed with confidence.
Placed twice in six starts in bumpers; had just the one spin over hurdles finishing down the field at Navan last October; hard to assess at present and market should prove useful to his chances.
Just two point-to-point outings to judge his ability but that is made more difficult considering they came three years ago. He did win on his second attempt over three miles but fitness and current abiltly taken on trust. Probably best watched here.
Lightly-raced maiden who has been well beaten on all four bumper starts and beaten 72 lengths on his only try over hurdles; difficult to see where any improvement will come from.
Finally managed to complete a hurdles race when finishing 13/16 beaten over 40 lengths at Killarney in August; that may have done his confidence some good but hard to see him being a factor even in a race of this quality.
Fairly well-bred mare who is entitled to improve on her only racecourse outing at Ballinrobe in August but might still not be good enough to land a blow.
Made light work of winning a bumper on her third time of asking and is clearly the one they all have to beat if she can jump as well as she travels. Will be odds-on but may prove difficult to live with.
Forecasts
Zola (1/1), Mister Fogpatches (7/2), Castello Sforza (4/1), Awbeg Prince (10/1), Cloudybackwest (12/1), Rocks Of Bawnree (16/1), Bere Haven (50/1), The Sneaky Punter (50/1), Singirishmansing (66/1), Time Won't Wait (66/1)
ZOLA is the clear form pick here on her hurdles debut and can land this before going on to contest better races for her top trainer. She comfortably won at Sligo last time out and if repeating that then she will prove very difficult to pass. Cloudybackwest can not be backed with much confidence but he has been placed at this level and could do so again. Castello Sforza has decent bumper form in the distant past and while he obviously has ability has obviously had problems. He should, however, be able to land a place finish at the very worst.
- Zola
- Cloudybackwest
- Castello Sforza
