Off time: 14:42 | Winning time: 4m 16.60s

Arbuckle²⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: M Goldstein| T: M Madgwick

50/1

Poor seven-race maiden on the Flat who has finished tailed-off in most of his races. Hard to make a case for on this switch to hurdles.

Form:

Big Ian^b1¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: T J O'Brien| T: A E Jones

33/1

Failed to make an impression in eight starts on the Flat and finished tailed off on recent hurdling debut. Huge improvement required.

Form: 9

Glutnforpunishment¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: J M Quinlan| T: N P Littmoden

4/11

Progressive performer on the Flat this year with four wins to his name. Only headed close home on recent hurdling debut at Worcester and that sets a very strong standard, Likely more to come and the one to beat.

Form: 2

Hypnos¹³⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: David England| T: O Murphy

12/1

Consistent performer in winning one from 10 on the Flat for David Simcock before a disappointing run in April. Fast ground an excuse there and a likely type on hurdling and stable debut.

Form:

Zeb Spirit³⁰⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: G Sheehan| T: O Murphy

5/1

Some progress in three starts for previous yard on the Flat in Ireland without threatening. Makes British, stable and hurdling debut. Market likely best guide. Stable also runs Hypnos.

Form:

Local Affair¹³⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 10-5| J: Paul O'Brien⁽³⁾| T: C E Longsdon

14/1

Ran a fair race on debut when fourth at Wolverhampton for Simon Crisford before refusing to load at Haydock in June. Sold for 18,000 gns since and an interesting type going over hurdles on stable debut.

Form:

Stevie Smith²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 10-5| J: J E Moore| T: Miss A Murphy

50/1

Finished tailed off at long odds in both recent Flat starts and now makes a a quick switch to hurdling. Probably best watched.

Forecasts

Glutnforpunishment (4/11), Zeb Spirit (5/1), Hypnos (12/1), Local Affair (14/1), Big Ian (33/1), Arbuckle (50/1), Stevie Smith (50/1)

Olly Murphy runs two hurdling debutantes with Hypnos rating the most likely type on paper. GLUTNFORPUNISHMENT has moved on an upward curve on the Flat and then taken that to hurdles with a narrow debut defeat. A repeat is likely to be good enough. Local Affair could be a big danger as a very likely type on her first start over hurdles.
