Was returning from summer break when third over 2m5f at Killarney last month, closing well to the line after racing in rear (last flight omitted). Could have solid claims if building on that.

Winner on seasonal debut of a Tramore handicap hurdle over 2m5f in May. Another couple of solid runs after, though latest Ballinrobe effort in July does pose a question.

Hasn't won since October 2015, put some recent disappointments behind when modest third at Downpatrick (2m3f, good; 16-1) last month; though that will likely need improving on again. Tongue tie added now.

Both hurdles wins have come here over 2m, latest in April. Narrow second to in-form rival at Bellewstown nine days ago on first attempt over this trip and leading claims despite 3lb hike.

Winner last time out over fences at Tramore (2m5½, good) in August, not especially well handicapped reverting to this discipline (1-23 over hurdles previously).

Has been struggling over fences for previous trainer, remains clear of hurdles winning mark starting out for this yard and best watched at the moment.

Unable to get competitive in novice/maiden hurdles this summer and was already toiling when unseating rider on handicap debut at Downpatrick (2m2½f, good) recently. Tongue tie tried here.

A succession of hefty defeats in her career so far, including last of 12 on handicap hurdle bow at Sligo in July over this sort of trip. Cheekpieces added here but very much up against it.

Difficult to make a case for the Flemensfirth gelding who is yet to hit the frame in 12 starts over hurdles. Not disgraced in recent starts but liable to find a couple stronger.

Sent off as low as 10-1 on recent handicap hurdle bow at Bellewstown over this sort of trip, ridden with restraint but unable to rise a serious challenge and has plenty to work on.

Yet to really set pulse racing over timber, though best effort was a 7½L defeat over C&D in July from 4lb higher mark. Beaten at Bellewstown since and needs to improve on best form.

Victorious in a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m1f at Ballinrobe (good) in April. Mostly toiling in five runs since, though now back on a workable mark if able to get on the front foot again.

Unplaced in seven starts over timber, though best run to date was over C&D in June when beaten just over 8L. Rated 2lb lower after one poor run since. Needs to take a step forward.

Verdict

Having found only an in-form rival too good at Bellewstown last time, TRENCHTOWN ROCK is fancied to strike now. He's gone up 3lb for that win but remains unexposed over this sort of trip and can provide his rider Darragh O'Keefe with yet another winner in a productive spell. Crimson Chief went well last time at Killarney and is on the shortlist alongside Quarry Lil, whose confidence is boosted after landing a Clonmel maiden two days ago, for which he's been raised 5lb. Fr Gilligansvoyge is on a nice mark if able to find the form that saw him score at Ballinrobe in the spring.
  1. Trenchtown Rock
  2. Crimson Chief
  3. Fr Gilligansvoyge
