Course winner over 7f (final run for Sir Michael Stoute); scored twice on turf this year over 6f, the last win at Newmarket coming in a better grade than this. Not disgraced when last seen (raced close to strong pace); good apprentice booked.

Windsor winner over this trip in June he's yet to replicate that form in three subsequent starts including when tried in headgear (cheekpieces) last time. Raced too keenly last time, needs to learn to settle to be of interest in the future.

Only win so far came on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton (5f) on his second start. Plenty of creditable efforts to his name this year in handicaps but ran one of his lesser races last time (handicapper starting to relent); blinkers on first-time.

Returned from wind surgery to record back-to back 6f victories, the first over C&D before returning a career-best over the same trip at Windsor last time. Forged clear last time, may not have finished winning yet even under a 12lb penalty.

Off the mark on just his second start for this yard over C&D looking more the finished article than had been the case before. Failed to build on that victory in two starts since (over 7f last time); others put forward more persuasive arguments.

Dual 2yo winner over 6f in nursery company who hasn't looked an easy ride this year, often pulling hard/racing freely. Spoilt her chance on every occasion this year with this attitude; first-time visor now reached for, limited appeal.

Never ran as a 2yo but scored twice earlier in the year over 6f on the AW when with James Tate. Form gradually tailed off for that yard but has failed to be rejuvenated by a move to his current stable; run poorly twice on turf, now back on AW.

Lightly-raced sort (not seen as 2yo) who has only had two starts in handicaps so far; looks as though he can improve again without being wildly progressive. Certainly not thrown in off this mark but can't be totally ruled out, less exposed than some.

Not yet seen this year, failed to score last year including in nurseries over 6f (trip looked a little on the short side). Has been well found in the betting on all handicaps start, so far failed to live up to expectations; returns from an absence.

Took a significant step forward after a break to win his first race under a positive ride from today's pilot at Newmarket (6f, good/firm). Ran into Chil Chil over C&D last time; better off at the weights but she has improved in the meantime.

Verdict

Apart from CHIL CHIL there don’t look to be many improvers in this 3yo handicap where she appears to be improving very quickly and bids to complete a quick hat-trick. The 12lb penalty makes life tougher as does the quick turnaround but she positively forged away last time and looks a filly on the up. Lordsbridge Boy whom she beat for the first of her wins over C&D has a big weight pull that should bring them closer together but he isn’t progressing at the same rate. Gold At Midnight drops in grade and looks a creditable threat while Soldier’s Son and Airwaves have more to offer than many of the others.
