Scored at Windsor on his last run for Richard Hannon in July. Not badly treated on previous handicap form, but has been below par so far for this trainer. Cheekpieces could help.
Won back-to-back starts in June (both 5f, good and soft ground). Well treated on some of his old form, but needs to bounce back after two moderate efforts.
Ran well in the Great St Wilfrid consolation race to finish fourth (6f, soft) and goes well over this minimum trip. Not at his best at Southwell last time (AW), but enters calculations back on turf.
Easy Wolverhampton winner (6f, AW; made all) in July, and has gone close on both starts since, most recently at Chester (5f, good). Has won on soft. Cheekpieces added here and enters calculations.
Scored on debut for this trainer in May at Hamilton (6f, good to firm), but has been held on both starts since. More needed.
Below par on his last three runs, but acts on soft ground and looks to have the pace for this trip, so well worth a try. Has won here over 6f on heavy, and not ruled out.
In-and-out performer, but has won twice here over C&D and acts well on soft ground, as he showed when scoring at Nottingham on his penultimate start. Respectable run at Thirsk last time, and should be competitive.
Windsor scorer in April, and also ran well at Chester three starts ago. Otherwise, this has been a below par campaign, and others are preferred in this line-up.
Below par in all three starts this year, but won this in 2017 and was second in it again last year. Cheekpieces fitted and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back and go close again.
Dual winner here on heavy ground this season (both 5f and 6f). Ran well again at Chepstow last time, and should be in the mix.
Supported prior to her back-to-form C&D (soft) win last month, in a lady amateurs' race. Up 7lb for that, but still possibilities from this mark.
Forecasts
Wild Edric (11/4), Came From The Dark (9/2), Somewhere Secret (5/1), Airglow (8/1), Major Pusey (8/1), Tomily (12/1), Cool Spirit (12/1), Show Palace (12/1), Lathom (16/1), Marietta Robusti (16/1), Bellevarde (25/1)
Airglow reverts to soft ground on turf with decent claims here, but slight preference is for WILD EDRIC, who also goes on this ground and could be sparked up by the addition of headgear over this trip. Somewhere Secret, Came From The Dark, former winner Major Pusey and Show Palace are all respected in opposition.
- Wild Edric
- Airglow
- Major Pusey
