Best effort last season when winning a nursery at Ripon (1m) in September, and ran well when third at Kempton on return. Poor efforts on both starts since, but has had a wind operation since last seen, so could do better now.
Scored for the first time at Newmarket (7f) back in June where he was on the right side of a close finish, and again found the line coming just in time when scoring at Kempton on latest start. Only 2lb higher now, and should be involved once more.
Back to winning ways at Newmarket (1m) in June, and only 1lb higher now, but she's not fired fully on either start since, and needs to settle better than she has been to defy her mark, for all the drop to 7f may help in that regard.
Made most to score at Leicester (6f) last month, and again in front a long way out when gaining his fourth win of the year at Windsor last time. Has won over this trip, and handicapper may not have his measure despite going up 29lb for those wins.
Just a maiden win to his name despite his ability, joining this yard from Ger Lyons last month. Back to form when third at Beverley last time, but had no excuses, and vulnerable again.
Hold-up performer who won at Doncaster in May. Below form on his last two starts, but had wind surgery prior to latest, and perhaps worth another chance to show himself well treated.
Looked promising when winning at Pontefract in May after finding only Jubiloso too good on previous start, but he has not progressed as expected, and others more appealing here.
Made all over this trip at Leicester in July, but aggressive tactics probably overdone when last of 6 at Sandown last time. Favourite for that contest, and could well bounce back now reunited with his partner from previous win.
Won a 7½f Beverley maiden in June, and probably didn't need to improve when successful at second time of asking in handicaps at Lingfield (AW) last time. Still unexposed, though, so can't be dismissed from calculations.
Hard to predict for Richard Hughes this season, but did get back to form on debut for new yard at Chelmsford last time, and is now 1lb lower. Not certain to back that up given his profile, but is fairly treated if doing so.
Forecasts
Archaeology (7/2), Jaleel (9/2), Riviera Nights (13/2), Shawaaheq (13/2), Clara Peeters (7/1), Eye Of The Water (7/1), Golden Force (9/1), Invasion Day (16/1), After John (16/1), Uncle Jerry (20/1)
A couple of these could do better for recent wind surgery, notably Doncaster winner Archaeology, but preference is for more solid recent form, and in that regard JALEEL gets the nod. His wins have come by narrow margins, but that might be hiding his progress, and he should go well again. Eye of The Water has shot up the handicap in contrast, but his latest win has worked out, and he's hard to rule out back up in trip.
- Jaleel
- Eye Of The Water
- Archaeology
