Racing to a consistent level in first three starts this year including a creditable fourth in 1m2f Doncaster handicap. Stumbled and rider lost his irons at Epsom and remains on a good mark. Went close over this C&D in June.

Five-time winner for William Haggas has had mixed efforts in four starts for new stable. Looked to be returning to form in the Golden Mile at Goodwood but below that in the Shergar Cup Mile. Remains high in the handicap.

Impressive on sole start last year over a mile here and made it an easy two from two when returning from a lengthy lay-off at Kempton last month. Had been high in the Derby betting and holds Group entries. May be hard to beat on handicap debut.

Kempton novice winner in 2017 but has failed to add to that since. Had been struggling in strong handicaps on turf this year but failed to be revitalised by a switch to this track last start. Remains best watched at this level.

Twice a winner on turf last year but went close on sole AW start here in May. Left a poor run behind with a career-best second when headed on the line over this trip at Ripon. Likely to make a bold bid from the front.

Forecasts

Dubai Warrior (2/5), Desert Fire (7/2), The Trader (5/1), Original Choice (25/1), Glen Shiel (25/1), Glendevon (40/1)

Verdict

DUBAI WARRIOR holds some fancy turf entries but is bred to be very smart on an artificial surface and his two performances to date have only emphasised that. He should only improve going up in distance on handicap debut and possesses huge potential. The Trader is the sole confirmed front-runner and will provide a tough opponent to crack following his latest gutsy second. Desert Fire can be forgiven his latest run and is a reliable performer at this level while Glen Shiel is feasibly handicapped and should be noted in the betting on his British debut.
  1. Dubai Warrior
  2. The Trader
  3. Desert Fire
